Hi y'all! Just wanted to touch on the concern of battery drain in iOS 17 - every big iOS update requires your phone to recache the entire OS locally, this causes battery drain for a lot of folks and I just wanted to say it is NORMAL! Your battery life will return normal within the week. This concern is brought up every year so I thought I'd let y'all know not to worry 😊

Does the same go with storage? I was only using 50GB of storage before the update including all my photos but it’s shot up to just short of 70GB and it says system data is around 20GB. I’ve tried restarting my phone and everything but can’t get it to go down at all. Will it go back to normal again?

Turn off "Wifi Assist" in Settings> Cellular. I found wifi assist eating away most of the power even if I don't use the device a lot with power saving mode on

I just watched a video of yours that was four years old about rearranging icons on the iPhone. I don’t know why I have so much difficulty to get one icon to go to another page but I do it just rearranges all my icons and then end up struggling. I have an iPhone 13 mini I updated it to iOS 17 on my wallpaper. For some reason I can’t get the time behind the wallpaper photo is this a common problem with the iOS 13? I tried to follow instructions to do it but it doesn’t seem to be working. Any suggestions out there?

Everybody seems very excited about the new iOS 17 features, where to me it's just a bunch of fancy visual stuff. I bought an iPhone SE 2022 this year, because I didn't want those stick out lenses in my pocket and at last it is mainly a phone. It is good enough for a quick snapshot. For higher quality photos I use my SLR with changeable lenses. At last this upgrade seems to me like a lot of hot air. A much better feature would be a native carplay-ui on the iPhone for better accessibility while driving.

Yet to upgrade to ios17, because of early bugs that will appear. what im cautious about is the voice clone, whats to say someone could have recorded your voice before via tape or digital recorder. would ios notice the difference ? Also air drops new feature, to share files over, will bother users need to be signed in, else it might cause an exploit somewhere, if someone figures out how to send a malicious buggy file or sound.file, causing a crash.

On my iphone12pm I've tried out Standby, which is more limited. The tip blurb says it remembers your default/preferred settings. IT DOESN'T. I set it with the clock but something else turns up next time!

On the topic of new ringtones, I have an issue: I updated to the iPhone 15 Pro Max Friday, and today I was checking out the new ring/text tones. I noticed the text tone I had purchased and have been using was gone from the list, but it still shows up under the ringtones. I did the "download all purchased tones" option but it didn't come back to the text tones list. Do I have to rebuy it even though I still have it as a ring tone?

I was amazed that my iPhone se2020 which is 3 years old today . actually downloaded and installed IOS 17. I live in Tasmania / Australia. I looked up the price of the basic iPhone 15 base model and it is retailing here for $1499. So as for upgrading ? it's a no from me. Iam an amateur horrollogy fan and Titanium has been rolled out on a lot of Luxury watches and lower priced one's. Still not enough to get me excited about the iPhone 15. Do they know that thunderbolt 5 is coming out soon . ? Amazing to see someone stand over APPLE and force them to go with the USB cable. Good morning from China. Yesterday (20/9), I downloaded iPadOS 17 on my mini6 AND iOS 17 on my SE. This morning, Apple’s TRANSLATE app doesn’t work anymore. It’s frozen on English Spanish languages and won’t setup languages as well as download languages for offline use. I’ve been in China six years and recently married last year. TRANSLATE app is my ONLY source of communication with my wife and communication lifeline in China. Please advise. Thank you.

Battery drain only happens because every new big update your iPhone recaches the entire operating system over a span of a week. Battery life should go back to normal afterwards!

I’m unable to do the last step where you turn on the camera and hold down on HFIF max. When I turn on my camera in the upper right hand corner, it says RAW not HFIF max, and holding it down did nothing. My camera is iPhone 13 Pro Max, does this new trick of yours not work with the 13 promax?

Standbye goes sleep after about 15 seconds. I was really excited about this thinking I can see the time when I was sleeping but after about 15 seconds it shuts off. It only stays on permanently if you have the pro. So disappointing.

I think it depends on the iPhone model. Only on newer iPhones if I understood correctly I have 13 mini and I don’t have those features either. But there appears to be subtle changes or I’ve just not paid attention before.

In the past you made a comment that we don't need a case for the iphone 12. Well I bought a pretty good one anyway and my back glass STILL broke. Later I forgot I had the phone in my pocket and jumped in the ocean (shallow) for a few seconds until I realized what I did. Long story short the screen went out, and the repair guy said even if he fixes it...since the glass is broke water can get inside and the motherboard would continue to corrode, and I should replace it. Maybe it would have been ok but that was a $180 repair to take the gamble. I got a tip to beat the system just get a walmart Samsung Galaxy A13 for $130 and put my sim card in it, so that's what I did. Now I'm gonna let this contract run out and I'm done with the big name carriers. They keep you on the hook with contracts, then keep upping my bill.

I wish this update would have been able to change ALL notifications, my blink cameras are not able to change alert sounds so when my camera is activated its the same general notification as a Gmail. That is one thing I liked about Android you could customize everything.
