@@Jay-407 you must not know what this trial is about... quick recap for you since you only just are hearing about this. The company that she is representing and working for is responsible for lying about children being shot up in school, not just lying, they said it's all faked causing the parents to be ridiculed and stalked and threatened. That's really nothing to put up a laughing face emoji about. And also doesn't make your question seem sincere.

I was wondering how she was hired- she used to work with the defense attorney. I'm not sure if she just wasn't a great lawyer or if she was just terribly prepared by the company/man she is supposed to be representing. But the number of times she said she didn't do any research outside of what she was given, I'm not an attorney representing an entity, but I'm fairly certain that I have done more research on this organization than she has.
@nicholaswoollhead6830
@nicholaswoollhead6830 Жыл бұрын
She was pulled in and only shown specific evidence so that INFOWARS could keep their worst stuff hidden. If she'd been an actual corporate rep she would have known things such as "Who keeps sending INFOWARS millions of dollars in crypto currency?" or "What is INFOWARS association with the Koch familiy?", which anyone from inforwars would have to commit purjury to cover up. Especially since the defence doesn't really know what evidence the prosecution possess, because of what happened with Alex's phone in Texas. She and the defence obviously look like idiots, but I think this was a better for the defence than the alternative would have been.

Interesting. Whatever else you think of what Jones said, and how it would have been distressing for the families of the victims, I am *very* surprised to see the judge constantly overruling what sound like valid objections in terms of legal process (eg "calls for speculation" when a question obviously does). Almost as if she allowed personal anger at being called a tyrant, or personal disgust at Jones' positions, to cause her to get a bit narky and not be impartial about questions of legal process. I'd be interested to see some more in-depth legal analysis of this aspect of proceedings.

I know this is probably just an expression of exasperation but if you are interested in how our brains are just fu*ked up and are messing with us constantly, I'd recommend reading "The Skeptic's Guide To The Universe". That's a book about how our brains work, how awful our memory is, how we fall into trap after trap using shortcuts and logical fallacies to betray ourselves on a daily basis. It doesn't sound like much fun but it is and it gives a foundation for why we fall for BS all the time. Some BS being worse of course than the "usual" stuff. There is a chapter on 'grand conspiracies' as well as 'pseudoscience' and other nonsense. I read it once and saw all the mistakes others made. I read it again after a year or two and suddenly realized that I am no better. THAT is the point when you can actually start working on not becoming one of Alex Jones' sheeple someday 😉

This is the problem with kangaroo courts. Alex Jones defamed these people. He would have been found guilty by a jury 99% of the time. But having a default and then allowing there to be one side who presents evidence of guilt and the other side is not allowed to challenge it makes everything an objectionable issue and slows everything to a crawl. These judges who are clearly annoyed by Jones should have just allowed normal trial with sanctions and to stipulate any issues with discovery. What's happening here is something anyone would worry about.

I think Alex said that it costs $1 million/day to produce the show so talking about net income alone is specious. Also, even if he was earning a lot, that does not invalidate his right to free speech. Also, Alex is a journalist and then some. He backs up his statements with evidence, but also goes deeper to show the M.O. of the D.S. so one can almost predict what's going to happen next. This is unique among journalists, and why the D.S. is so afraid of him. He's over the target, and so he expects flack... but keeps going anyway!

The plaintiffs have already presented evidence in this case (internal text messages) showing that InfoWars made over $800k in single days. In the Texas case it was shown that InfoWars made hundreds of thousands of dollars a day, and that was only the financial info that the plaintiffs were able to obtain. Because ever since InfoWars lost the default judgement, they have been automatically transferring money to other accounts which we still don't know how much is in there. InfoWars is illegally concealing their wealth as shown in the Texas trial, so I really wouldn't trust Jones' own statements on the profitability of the show. This is quite literally a trial all about how Jones had not done any investigating into Sandy Hook (defense witness has testified to this), Jones has made it clear he does not view himself as a journalist - because then he would be accountable for all his lies (defense witness testified to this literally in this video), and the defense attorney's opening statement is making fun of the ludicrous claims that Jones has made and insinuating that the public should ignore him. Aka the Fox News Tucker Carlson defense of, "Nobody in their right mind would believe this crap." That is why I find it so funny that people comment on InfoWars accuracy and integrity on this trial - where the InfoWars defense is the exact opposite.
