Good video ! 1) as far as the distance from gate to connection point being a lot I would probably install another gate on the outlet right where u connect to. I would also put a shut off valve on end of hose so thier very little area for sewage to be. A Doulbe valve / back to back valve set up if u will. Or I might Just Pump it into the travel box from black tank using a Pump. I would probably use a macerator pump. You could also put a scale under it & weight it while filling to know when it’s almost full. You could also put a window in the side of the unit to see the level if u wanted. You could also cut a hole in the top & install a o-ring sealed screw in access door that they use in the marine industry for a view port into the sewage hauler.

I met a guy who cleans septic tanks he never wore gloves and he quite often was crawling around in the tanks and working in the tanka he said it all washes off and has never gotten sick from getting it on him and I guess he didn’t mind the smell

Hi Pippi, hope you are well. Good, all-round solid advice as usual and a vital part of 'housekeeping' in your RV. I get asked about composting smells, and the secret, in my opinion, is keeping liquids and solids separated. When the solid waste dries out it doesn't smell anymore. My camping tip is an old one - Take only photographs, Leave only footprints. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and keep up the good work. ;)

Hi Pippi, There are 2 more things to go along with the portable poop tanks. 1 is a secondary gate valve that twists on to the end of your drain pipe, and 2 is a clear 45 degree fitting that connects between the above valve and the portatank. Thats eliminates the problems that you had. Yes, I am talking from experience.😅😅😅

Great advice on the cart. I'd rather deal with a tank than a composting system. I love cats and can tell you as a fact. There is no litter or litter box system that doesn't stink.

Pippi, Super Informative as always and you are more Gorgeous every time I see you. I enjoyed this video and I don't even have an RV , my sister in Colorado has been living in an RV 5th wheel trailer for the past 2 and a half years though. It's nice and Information like this can help her in keeping it nice. Thank you. P.s. I was wondering if they make a shut of valve you can add or place mid way on the pipes or tubes coming off the RV black/ Grey tanks to help stop, avoid getting it all over whether on yourself or other items when you need to dump the tanks.? If not maybe someone should mention it and they can come up with one for not only the hoses / tubes but maybe on the tanks themselves. Just a thought. Enjoy your weekend pippi smiles sent your way. :)

In many areas in Arizona on BLM land it is legal to dump grey water. It’s not legal in National Forest and Maricopa county it’s not legal anywhere.

Please dump grey or black tanks in proper dump stations and not into nature. The people who do this are the ones that will get RVs no longer able to access boondocking areas.
