1959.... 60 golden years of age. Excellent video lads I’ve been watching since day 1 it’s nice to see the Irish get in on the KZbin Golf Equip review scene. A lot I didn’t know about shafts there the whole weight to swing tempo is something that I have never considered I’ll have to get myself properly checked for all this stuff. Off 7 now I’d hope my stock clubs are not now limiting me to improving even more ..

Hey guys great video. I'm really torn and I don't have a fitting centre near me. I'm 55 years of age. I probably swing at about 78 to 82. I used to use the NS pro years ago. I gave away golf for about 10 years I definitely don't want graphite. I don't like the feel of them. I'm leaning towards just going back to the 950 GH but I was interested in the Neo 950 and the difference between those two..... looking at putting it in Mizuno923 forged

Great video! I'm looking to add some weight to my juniors shafts. She is playing KBS TGI 70 now. Her 7i speed is 75mph, driver 89. I was thinking the 850 in Reg now not so sure. I'm worried the 950 Reg could be to heavy and the 850 Reg could be to stiff. i would not call her a smooth swinger, has a quick transition. She plays the P770 1" under standard. Thank you for your thoughts. David
@foregolfcustom3 жыл бұрын
Go KBS 80 in Reg. Better for shorter length in lighter weight as the tip profile is softer but if she transitions quickly the Nippon NS850 in reg will be fine. She can grow with them too. Just make sure the length allows her to grow a little. 👍🏻👍🏻

1959 60 years Lads great video, I’ve a 2 part question for you. I was fitted years ago and went for a lighter steel shaft, the Dynalite gold s300 (I know, ancient) but they really play as firm as they are relatively light and i generate good swing speed with them. I’ve been away from the game a few years and I’m starting to ramp up to play properly next season, Would the 950 have a similar effect of a soft stiff ? I’ve a set of Tm rocketbladez tour irons a friend was trying to sell before upgrading I bought on a whim, but they have dynamic gold s300, I hit them fine but they feel a little heavier and stiffer than I would go for, roughly what would the cost be for 7 of the 950s to be put into them including a fitting.

I just bought the Srixon Z595 with the Nippon Modus3 105 tour regular steel shaft. This is not like most reg shafts. Much firmer. I have an old set with weak reg shafts. Nippon Modus3 105 tour regular steel shaft is way stiffer than my old irons with a reg 98 gram steel shaft. There is nothing wrong with Reg stiffness. Let the shaft do the work.

Hi guys. Great video: really interesting. I'm an aging player - just turned 50 - and after an injury lay-off i've lost some distance. As a result i'm changing wedges and looking at the Cleveland CBX 2 as an interim (gap) wedge. I'm thinking about a Nippon shaft for that such as those you have reviewed, but am conscious wedge shafts tend to be heavier and stiffer. What do you think about the shafts you have reviewed for a gap wedge for a player such as me? I was thinking either the 950GH or the Tour 105.

Guys, I've just found you on the net during lockdown, unfortunately missed the comp but this is an outstanding video..... I've subscribed and will be an avid viewer from now on. I have a question as being bored during lockdown I bought some Srixon z585's with the modus 3 105 regular shafts. Clearly I hadnt tried them but took a punt after reviews, but this is the best shaft feedback as never had nippon before. I changed from TaylorMade psi tour forged in kbs tour c taper 105 regular. I am interested in and would appreciate your feedback on what I could expect in different shaft shape and feel. Finally I saw some new 2020 TM p790's with the NS pro 950 but in stiff and would like your thoughts on the mix and comparisons. I also did 20 years at UPS so love the combination with Galvin Green. Currently playing wilson D7 forged in a project X riftle 5.5. They feel heavy and my miss is always right. I bought a 7i in japen, Mizuno Gx forged with n.s. pro 950gh HT stiff, and that club feels great. I like the light feeling and almost always find i can get a good strike and get about 160yards straight, with a slight fade. I know the mizuno head may be more forgiving but i think the shaft definitely feels better. Would it be a good idea to get my D7s reshafted?

Is the 850 mainly used as a lady shaft?
@foregolfcustom12 күн бұрын
No quite the opposite. The 850 plays a little firmer than the 950 so I use it when I need the lighter balance weight but don’t what to compromise the flex in the shaft. The 850 is a great low weight firming playability product for promoting a fast head speed and definitely not just for the lady golfer. 👊🏼

Great...relevant video!! I'm looking to put the 950GH's in a set of PXG Gen 3 Xp's. (My driver swing speed is between 95-98 mph...every so often I hit 100 mph.) I have always been right on the line between S or R, and now that I'm 60...swing speed is declining! :( I was also considering the Mitsubishi MMT in Stiff which is 80 grams or the 950 GH. Still not sure if the 80 gram is too light and if I will lose feel. If I do opt for the 950GH, would you get them soft stepped? Do you think the ball flight would be even higher? I have heard that soft stepping them would make the club play like Soft Stiff. However, it sounds like they play like a Soft Stiff regardless and Soft Stepping might make them too weak. Any thoughts on the shafts mentioned or my questions? Thanks so much!
@foregolfcustom3 жыл бұрын
Go for soft stepping and they will be fine based on your profile. You can always nudge the lofts if needs be. Steer away from graphite for now as the club will lose balance and flight higher. Good luck 👍🏻 Thanks for watching.
@jeffmark61573 жыл бұрын
@@foregolfcustom Thank you so much for the response!! I will forgo graphite and get the NSPro 950GH's in stiff and get them soft stepped. The lofts are slightly strong. (i.e. 29 7 iron...39 for the 9 iron.....49 for the Gap Wedge) Therefore, if soft stepping makes the ball flight slightly higher, that may be a good thing. When you say "nudge lofts", I think you mean tweak in either direction as necessary. You guys are awesome!

I am not sure if these will work well together or not, as these type of clubs are supposed to get the ball in the air aren't they? Oh man I wouldn't have put you in the modus if you like the project x But you didn't specify which Project X

Would be great to understand the how the bend profile changes between something like Modus 105-S and a soft stepped Modus 120-S?

got fitted for p770/790 combo set 950gh, didnt get to hit the neo but do you think the neo would be very similar if i just wanted a touch more spin. thank you
@foregolfcustom4 жыл бұрын
Quick answer is Yes. Alternatively you can weaken the lofts in that set as they spin quite low anyway. 👍🏻

Hi I got fitted to 850gh stiff for my old Razr Callaway irons. Swing speed not amazing im between 78 and 80mph. Could I benefit more fromthe more regular option for my new Apex forged 19 heads ? Like 950 GH stiff or 850gh regular? Thanks
@foregolfcustom4 жыл бұрын
850 plays stiffer than 950 due to shaft wall construction so go for 950 Reg.👍🏻

Got fitted for the ns pro 950 neo shaft in the jpx 921 hmp in stiff because I wanted to hit the ball higher but they have arrived in the ns pro 950gh stiff which was the shafts in my original mizuno irons do you think there will be much difference if i kept them your honest feedback would be appreciated
@foregolfcustom4 жыл бұрын
They will be fine in that head with that shaft. Only very subtle difference that won’t affect launch that much either way. Head design will dominate the higher launch. 👍🏻

What would say about titleist ap1's 718 in a modus 105?i need spin and launch to come down but still want the forgiveness...???
@foregolfcustom3 жыл бұрын
Great combo. Keep the flex regular if your swing will allow for more spin and higher launch. 🚀👍🏻

Interesting video guys. I had fitted with Mizuno Shaft Optimizer earlier. It is recommended NS Pro Modus 3 105 S-Flex, KBS Tour V S-flex, KBS Tour C-Taper95 S-flex. I bought JPX900 Forged with Modus 3 105 S-Flex shaft. I found my iron game is not really improving. Lost distance very significant in the long irons. Furthermore, I feel very heavy in swinging iron 5 and 6. I am planning to change my Modus 3 shaft into 950GH (~10gr lighter) while maintaining S-flex. Will it be a good option?
@foregolfcustom4 жыл бұрын
Hey Hendy you need to get fitted on a launch monitor to check spin and launch angle BEFORE you switch shafts. Sounds like you might need a lower flighted shaft with less spin? If you can get fitted hitting balls to an outside range that will help a lot. Good luck 👍🏻

Man, those 3 nippon shafts are among my least favorite. Balloon balls. The Project X IO and KBS $Taper Lite and C Taper Lite just blow them away in terms of penetrating flight and consistent distance. The feel is so much more solid. The only pros playing the 105 are playing the TX version that actually weighs 113 grams.
@BuffaloNickel92 жыл бұрын
That's so subjective you know the modus3 is a mid to low flight shaft? Kisner plays the modus3 in the x-stiff. Also I don't know of any tour Pros playing the io? Besides the io, every Project X especially that god-awful rifle shaft feels like a two-by-four.

Hey guys. Do you know anything about the 990 shaft. Supposed to be a "constant" weight shaft. But that's confused me a bit. I play 950gh stiff. So how would the 990 compare to there. Are they a uniflex someone told me between reg and stiff. Looking for advice because I was actually thinking about buying the 990 to try if there close to the 950gh stiff. 0.370 tip. Thanks guys.
@foregolfcustom3 жыл бұрын
Good Q. If you look on the Nippon website you won’t see a 990 shaft. It’s a shaft made by Nippon exclusively for a head brand and wouldn’t really be that different to the 950 but rather a less expensive version. I wouldn’t move from 950 for them. 👍🏻😉
@TTT-Turbo3 жыл бұрын
@@foregolfcustom thanks for that, Do you think they wouldnt be made to the same standards then. I bought some PXG irons recently and wanted to change the shafts to something similar or the same as the 950gh because although there a lighter shaft, imo I think they definitely don't play that way and fell heavier than would suggest. Modus must have the weight in the butt and the Nippon 950GH must have a bit more weight lower down because my clubs felt heavier than my mates Modus 3 120g shafts.
@foregolfcustom3 жыл бұрын
Got it. Go for Modus 105 in those PXG heads and you’ll never look back. Upgrade to the all black colour for a really slick look. 👊🏼👊🏼

@@foregolfcustom You know, I've actually been looking at those. But I tried them in the new srixon head and I honestly couldnt feel anything. They feel so so light compared to the 950. There must be some weight in the lower end or the nspro950 and it could be the opposite way about for the modus 105. Not sure if you have tried both side by side. But its weird. I had to go to the 120 to get any feel from it.
@foregolfcustom3 жыл бұрын
I reckon it’s a swingweight (head weight) issue and not a shaft weight discrepancy with what you have “felt” in the past. Thanks. 👍🏻
