I got fitted and the 245’s were absolutely head and shoulders above anything else, so worth the money. Won’t be changing them out anytime soon though for that price!!

@@brianbasile5228 they’re incredible. I’m a 5 hcp & they have the feel & workability of a blade. They do feel very strong lofted though. They are like rockets these things compared to my old mp32 I’ve had for years. . But suits me as I’m mid 40s now, need a bit of help.

The Mizuno 245 irons are sweet, pure feeling and good in distance. When I say that,, they are long..but consistent in length... Found 790s.. were over a 25yard variance.....
@2sqnbandit3793 ай бұрын
@@peterwalz484 I must admit I do get big flyers with the mizunos out of the rough. And I mean massive. But the feel is incredible.

I had the same challenge not so long ago, I ended up on the side of the Mizuno also and have enjoyed them immensely, however I didn't have to consider the cost due to a refund on the poor Titleist T350 irons which continually broke on me. If you have the money, you won't be disappointed, but for the price difference I'd have been more than happy with the P790s.
@AFGOLFSTORE8 ай бұрын
Well summed up. Mizuno are always worth the price, but if the performance isn’t big enough a difference then P790 is one hell of an iron at that price. Enjoy your irons 👍🏻
@davereid80358 ай бұрын
There is a $50 difference between the P790 and the 245 here in Canada, $1799.99 (4-PW) for the P790 and $1849.99 (4-PW) for the 245. Your price argument is a little off, if you're going to spend this kind of money on a new set then both of these are in the same price range... give or take a box of balls. In my fitting it came down to the 245 and the 770, I went with the 245(was surprised as I was expecting to fit the 790). If you're spending the money, get fit, hit a bunch, find the right shaft and enjoy.

Here in Thailand TM are 40% more expensive than Mizuno's. It's literally a no brainer with that price difference....Titleist and Ping the same- also both around 40% higher priced.

Have the 225 right now and absolutely love them. Would you say the 245 much better and worth the change ??
@AFGOLFSTOREАй бұрын
The 225 were and still are brilliant! We only encourage change if you see gains in a fitting dependent on what you seek? More distance? More control? Height etc / some will therefore change others won’t! Horses for courses… sorry to sit on the fence. Worth a try

What weight and flex is the shaft you're using for the 245?
@2sqnbandit3793 ай бұрын
I swing 7 iron on average at 84 mph. I’m a 5 hcp 45 years old. They fitted me into the project X shaft, 5.5 which is the lower end of stiff shafts apparently. I think it’s called regular plus.

After a decade of gaming MP-59s, I really wanted the 245s, but the 790 was hands down the better club for me. The 790s were 20 yards longer than the 59s, 10 yards longer than the 245, and had a higher ball flight.
@AFGOLFSTORE5 ай бұрын
Both worth it! Do you need / want 20 extra yards tho? That’s a big switch in the game? Surely 245 saw gains on 59s? Enjoy whatever you choose 👍🏻
@mikebracco8905 ай бұрын
@@AFGOLFSTOREyeah, I lost some yardage over the years, a bit to age but mostly from finding a more repeatable easier swing and I needed the height to get the ball to stop in the long irons

Is the Callaway apex pro closer to the pro 245? What shaft weight and flex were you using if I may ask?
@AFGOLFSTORE6 ай бұрын
These two irons are both 30° give or take .5 of a degree… apex pro is 33°… but would the pro would certainly compete in this market 👍🏻

I don't think you can go wrong with Mizuno tbh. Always look great, better quality control than TM, and feel better. I like a brand that doesn't have to shout through marketing to sell its products- always feel that marketing spend hits manufacturing costs.
