Thank you for the information! I have been working part time as a personal trainer in Albania for years, l am a doctor by profession but my passion motivates me to continue. I am thinking of getting certified in ACE. I have certificates in Albania (where I live) from the Albanian bodybuilding federation. I finished the first aid course in the emergency hospital and I have spent years of training in various disciplines.

Matt,...nice job. As a retired RN of 58....I've been involved with sports, lifting, kinetics and sports "stuff" all my life...since Charles Atlas....long ago forgotten name.

I was recommended ACE and ended up choosing NASM; my package included CNC, CPT and Plant Based Diet with the job guarantee (40% off).I will say the nutrition portion itself is OVERWHELMING INFORMATION OVERLOAD. Great material, but so much! I ended up taking a 2 week hiatus and beyond nervous to start studying for my CPT, but I'm dedicated and invested so fingers crossed lol. I also have no background in fitness, it is a passion I acquired once I moved to FL, I have degrees in applied mathematics in statistics and economics LOL. I don't know what I'm doing, but I AM DOING IT! Thank you for this video!

Go for ACSM as he missed to mention the most authentic and original gold standard And affiliated organisation. There you will get everything.

As a seasoned fitness professional of 35 years, I've grown to despise all of the fitness certs. In 93, I got ACSM, because that was the gold standard, but over the years, the name of that cert has changed 6 times, and there is no clear reason why other than money. We pay for the CEU's to keep the certification current, and then we have to pay the cert agency each 2 to 4-year period on top of the classes for the CEU's. I just had Plus One tell me that I should get ACSM's personal training cert. WTF and on top of all that, I've got my MS from Springfield College. I appreciate your enthusiasm and knowledge, but this is all a racket. I would bet people at a bar bought drinks for the powers to be of companies and told them to require their cert, and of course, there is no clear proof of studies testing fitness professional's knowledge to guarantee that any specific cert has more knowledgable people. I also sometimes wonder whether companies are advertising jobs that do not exist but require certs, to promote that cert. I did use my health and fitness knowledge to stop my mother with mild dementia from forgetting me and I'm almost finished with my graphic memoir about it.

I took the NSCA and failed by like 20 but I don’t know If I should retake that one or the NASM... when I went to college my personal training class was based on the NSCA book.

I am basically looking to acquire knowledge (and get certified) so that I can design (fitness & weight loss) home workouts for virtual training and KZbin channel. I do not have any related education but have 15 yrs of experience of workouts. Could you suggest me any course that comes at a reasonable price? I’d like to do it more for passion than profession.

Hello, I come across your videos recently and is binge watching them. Thanks for providing all these useful information. Would appreciate your advice on if I were to take only 1 certification to start out, which would you recommend? I am more of a believer to functional exercises, love structured assessment/analysis and programming. Not looking to work in those commercial gyms though. For example: If you have a new client who is slightly obsese, total beginner and his/her goal is a body recomposition. Which of the certifications would best help me equipped knowledge to assess and then design a program for him/her (with functional movements) ? Sorry for the lengthy comment..appreciate if you have time for this

Based on what you are saying NASM might be the best option for you

I have a friend working as a strength and conditioning coach and he recommended me to go for CSCS certification directly, skipping the CPT. I have no degree in sports science or anything related, but do have a fair basics on exercise techniques, so it’s more like a passion thing for me. I’m definitely interested in NSCA certification. What would you recommend?
@TheMovementSystem4 жыл бұрын
The CSCS is really the gold standard in the industry. By far the most difficult exam. It's on a level above the CPT certifications. I have a bunch of videos on my channel to help you study for it.

You can’t get CSCS without a 4 year degree and as of 2030 you’ll need to have a degree in an approved strength and conditioning program to be eligible to sit for CSCS.

Any advice for someone who doesn't have a background in fitness but wants to learn more? I have a bachelors degree (business) but have a passion for fitness - basically when I am not at work I am at the gym or reading and looking at any other health/ fitness related information that I can find. I would love to eventually utilize both my business degree and passion and knowledge around fitness. I have looked into the CPT certification purely for the knowledge aspect as well as carrying it eventually in my career. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!
@TheMovementSystem5 жыл бұрын
ACE is a good certification for you to study for. Doesn't require a strong formal education background in exercise science or anything just studying the material.

I'm not familiar with the certifications in Canada. I would think that the NSCA CPT or NSCA CSCS are recognized there as it is international.
