I’m Chinese.. the story for the tiger park is slightly different. The wife having a temper tantrum, quarrelled with the husband (not carsick) and left the car disregarding the pleas from her mother and husband to stay in the car. She even turned around to scream at the husband if you watch the video. The tiger jumped her and dragged her away and her mother immediately jumped out of the car and ran after her. Her daughter survived because her mother became bait instead. Then the daughter have the audacity to sue the park… it was so controversial then. Pretty sure that cctv footage is still available somewhere. She probably changed her story so it doesn’t sound like it’s her fault.

To actually get *out of the car*, shut the door (!) then WALK AROUND IT???? Its hard to imagine there are grown ass women and men, PARENTS, who are this inept. Its like the most basic oldest impulse for us to hide from predators when unarmed. Any of our ancestors like this should've died out in the stone age. Her calling it victim blaming really doesn't seem right to me. In a way, yes she was a victim of a tiger attack and people blame her for it. I was very surprised that she actually won the lawsuit. She was not a woman who does something perfectly normal like wearing a short skirt or walking home in the dark, and then gets blamed for what someone else does to her. I looked up for more information on it and it’s gets even stupider and crazier. She a full blown Karen “She claims that she was not given enough information regarding the dangers of stepping outside the vehicle inside the park.” Wtf lady it’s a drive through park for free range tigers not a petting zoo! What bullshit of a excuse! “However, it is the policy of the zoo to have the visitors sign an agreement beforehand, promising to “close and lock car doors, never feed the animals, and never get out of the car” when driving private vehicles into such enclosures. Zhao later claimed that she thought the agreement was just some form of registration before entry. Signs are also placed around the zoo, reminding visitors about the policy. Even the patrol cars stationed in the proximity announced similar warnings. Zhao made a breach in the agreement and went against the numerous warnings the moment she stepped out of the vehicle. For the fatal accident, the park has agreed to settle with a compensation of 1.2 million yuan ($178,000) and 754,000 yuan ($112,000) for Zhao’s injuries, “out of moral obligation.” Then she claims the most ridiculous thing trying to somewhat play the victim and put accountability on the zoo. “I was wrong, but I think that the park should bear 70% of the responsibility,” Zhao was quoted as saying” Wtf she literally had multiple warning both visual with signs and audible being told by staff. Even signing a document of which likely would’ve been told what it’s for. She’s a clueless dumba** whose reckless and dangerous behavior caused everything. Their injuries and sadly her mother’s death. She says the park also failed in rescuing them but the attack was instant and in a huge drive through sanctuary with staff in stationed positions. She claims she got out because she felt sick and denies it was because she was fighting with her husband. Which makes more sense with how she got out and went around and up to his door instead of idk rolling down a window if she felt sick. She was careless, reckless and a complete moron. The type of person who thinks such things could never happen to her.

Ok, I have to make a small correction to the El Faro story. Danielle didn't advise him to turn around, she plotted a whole new course that would have taken them further inland, saving them. The farmer made a small, dangerous but understandable mistake that only put his life in danger. The woman LITERALLY got out of her car in a tiger enclosure. I remember reading about this case and seeing the CCTV footage of the incident . The Zhao family were at Badaling Wildlife World( BWW) in Beijing . All visitors have to sign a document which says that they will not get out of the car and won’t open the car window . Mrs Zhao later said she thought the document was just just to register her to get into the safari park and the ticket clerk hadn’t explained to her what it actually was . Mrs Zhao got out of the car because she had an argument with her husband (later she changed her story and and said she got out of the car because she was feeling sick) Mrs Zhao then wanted to sue BBW for $2 million Yuan . The Chinese government had conducted an investigation and stated that BWW were not legally liable for the d.eath of Mrs Zhao ‘s mother and the injuries to Ms Zhao . However out of a goodwill gesture and moral grounds BBW gave Mrs Zhao 745,000 Yuan for her injuries and 1.2 million Yuan for the d.eath of her mother .

#2 really resonated with me. I own a bespoke joinery company. A guillotine on one of our machines broke down, and in order to get the job done, I removed the guard, so that we could bypass it, I had the intention of replacing the guard after I had the machine fixed. But, like Kurt, I found the machine was much more convenient to operate without the guard. So, for months, I operated the machine without it, and got comfortable putting my hands near the moving parts that I would otherwise be no where near to if the guard was on. When I was rushing one day, I went to clean a part of the machine which had a cutter spinning so fast, that in that moment, I thought it was sitting still (probably hard to imagine unless you have worked around industrial machines) I prodded it with my right index finger and the impact was like someone hit my finger with a long cane, it ripped my glove off too. In hospital, one of the under studies tried to show willing to her mentor by saying "we should stitch it up" My finger looked like an over cooked sausage which had burst open. The superior nurse replied "stitch what up?'' It was a steep learning curve, but I no longer take any chances, and my experience has likely saved me losing a whole lot more.

As a former Amphib sailor, I'll tell you that most sailors can and will sleep through storms. It's actually easier to sleep in a storm unless you're thrown out of your rack. And with a ship as big as that, it'd basically feel like sleeping in a rocking cradle.
@HooksBill2 жыл бұрын
I'm a Veteran Sailor who was stationed aboard a DDG and FFG (both small ships). I've been in some of the worst storms imaginable. I can tell you some of the best sleep I've ever had was in monstrous storms at sea. I recall steering the ship in 42 ft swells and very low visibility as a young Helmsman. We get used to all the rocking, metal twisting and crashing down on the bow. Even nearly walking on the bulkheads. We call it a day at sea. Went through a hurricane back in '96. Won't lie, it was unnerving. Not so bad on a carrier, but aboard a Guides missile destroyer it's violent.
