I gotta say, Richard is a little more self-aware than most owners on the show. He admitted the community problems were his fault, he admitted they were stupid decisions, he even admitted that he didn’t know how to fix them. Respect

In October 2011 they failed a health inspection after also having failed previously in February 2011. Park's Edge closed in early 2014 after their lease ran out in November 2013 and were reportedly looking for a new location to reopen. The restaurant never reopened. as a former server it's really nice to see how Gordon almost always forms an alliance with the servers, being nice and jovial. Normally you're the first one to get all the complaints and all the negative emotions into your face, as if you're responsible for how the restaurant is run, how the food tastes, etc. - and on top, there's often a lot of dissonance between front and back of the house in form of blame games, so you're not only used to take the heat from the customers, but also getting blamed and screamed from the kitchen...

Who Invented Caesar Salad? The Caesar salad is often believed to have been created by Julius Caesar himself. But it wasn’t. Caesar salad was invented in the early 1920s by Caesar Cardini, an Italian chef who owned a restaurant in Tijuana, Mexico. He moved to Tijuana from California to avoid Prohibition, and it was here, on July 4th, 1924, where Caesar is believed to have invented the Caesar Salad. According to his daughter, Rose Cardini, the restaurant was overrun with American customers. Short on ingredients in the kitchen, her father assembled what was left: lettuce stalks, olive oil, raw egg, croutons, parmesan cheese and Worcestershire sauce. Originally intended as finger food, the original Caesar salad recipe called for whole lettuce leaves, which were to be dipped in the dressing and then eaten with the fingers. It was a hit. Cardini's salad became so popular that it was soon being served in restaurants all over the world. Today, it is one of the most popular salads in America.

After filming, the Yelp reviews are mixed but negative comments are mostly service based and hit and miss menu items. The Trip Advisor reviews were mixed and negative comments also seem to complain of poor service. In October 2011 they failed a health inspection after also having failed previously in February 2011. Park's Edge closed in early 2014 after their lease ran out in November 2013 and were reportedly looking for a new location to reopen. The restaurant never reopened. The website was active until 2020, 6 years after they closed! Park's Edge was aired on February 03 2012, the episode was filmed in September 2011 and is Kitchen Nightmares season 5 episode 10.

Just because of this, I'm gonna open a restaurant and the chef's recommendation will be Microwaved salad, using previously grilled lettuce, with pieces of fresh frozen out of the can crab. And of course, to make it perfect, flakes of Carolina Reaper. Jorge thinks he can make salad extra spicy? I'll make it inedible.

rewatching this episode after also just rewatched some old Hell's Kitchen seasons, I recognized Chef Andy and Chef James from a different episode that Gordon brings in to help the restaurants in need. it's another one of those things that show how much he truly cares and do everything he can to help the restaurant gets back on track, including bringing in some of his best people. whether the restaurant survives after Gordon is gone is another story, but one thing is for certain, he give it his all while he is there.
