Yes reliable. But not as accurate as an AR platform. Although that custom AK you had, I’m sure is. The standard AK’s shoot like trash compared to a standard AR

In typical engagement ranges the loss of accuracy is negligible. If you plan to engage anything beyond 100 yards i would hope you wouldn’t reach for an ak.
