The purple one that you picked up reminds of of the skirts I wore as a little girl. They weren't pa'u because I'm from Arkansas but I still wear the skirts like that. Our costumes & instruments are from 1960s...things have changed! Liking that you are talking about Oahu ❤we lived on Kapiolani ( before they made it an offramp😢) We are on the mainland now in Wyoming! Appreciate your channel!

Hello ms Lynn. I have one question on topic clothes for dancers, but no girl only boys. I know that in the old days all woman’s and men’s wearing one typic outfit names pauna. Typical Hawaiian túnica who was one element of wardrobe inhabitants of the island made with fabric leaves(or straw) of palm trees. When lands were lining British Coalition Royal Navy on begin XIX century was a division in fashion between girl and boys. Females had dress, skirts, high-heel, t-shirts, hats and other uniform for woman, but male had trousers, shorts, shirts, bots, hats with caps and other uniform for men. I want to know. Can you tell on topic clothes use to dance hula for boys in style aúana and kahiko? I need these informations that know which clothes from pauna and actually clothes using to dancer for men. Outfit similar to Scottish kilt, Japanese kimono, Arabic suna and more other clothes. How also things use to dance different type such as ballet, tango, valc, flamenco or other formality practice girl and boys.
