@@rainingman338 I will as soon as they announce a TKL version. It's nearly a perfect keyboard but it's even wider than a standard 104-key because of the G-keys. That will majorly interfere with my mouse movements. In the meantime I found the Gamdias Hermes M3, which is low profile using Kailh Choc Brown switches and feels absolutely incredible. It's not wireless, but that's the only thing I want that this keyboard doesn't have. It's as close to perfect as I've found.

This keyboard is mainly good for gamers who have small desks. Positioning is very important in using a keyboard to avoid strains, and if you have a small desk, you may not be able to position a full size keyboard on this table properly, sacrificing ergonomics which will soon cause a lot of strains on your hands.

If you want a full sized (104 key) board, get the Ajazz AK60, they're better value than corsairs, or if you want a space saving board, the AK33 with the black Zorro switches are the best bang for your buck. If you like clicky boards, try looking for Outemu Blue boards such as the Redragon Vara K551, since they have an understated design not akin to gaming at all (except for the keycaps). I never recommend stuff from Corsair, Logitech and HyperX since they charge you way more than what you need, Cooler Master is still pretty good in my book, their new CK550 keyboards with Gateron Yellows are good boards if you still want to stick with a known brand instead of the Chinese ones I recommended earlier.

Because 99% of his viewers are gamers before they are doing office work, and gaming boards work for both, but general purpose stuff does not go both ways. @@brandonbreuer6589 I see the GMMK as an alternative to those who can't or do not want to pay $200 for a keyboard (including myself), but looking for a keyboard with a hotswap PCB, also, maybe and just maybe some people will not find useful some features that come with the Massdrop CTRL so they save a hundred bucks, and lastly, the GMMK comes in a way more variety of switches compared to the CTRL, and you can choose from Full Size to TKL, which is always good
@VEN0M415
@VEN0M415 5 жыл бұрын
@@cristobalhansu Agreed, QMK is fantastic! and its build is nice but the GMMK is mainly metal except for the bottom plate, so the price really doesnt seem justified based on quality alone. also they lube the stabs in the GMMK now so its pretty good now. Also I agree that the pingy sound was slightly annoying but it can be taken away with a thin layer of foam on the inside of the keyboard, or getting an extra large mousepad and laying the keyboard flat on it with the legs not extended.

I don't understand the inclusion of the Romer G switches being a positive. They are some of the worst switches out there in terms of tactility and overall feel. For a keyswitch that touts a tactile feel, they are almost non existent. And they are some of the mushiest switches out there. Honestly for anybody who knows a thing about mechanical keyboards outside of the typical gaming keyboards can attest to much better options for tactility. (Zealios, Kailh Box Navies, etc) I also dislike the lack of any details on keycaps. The fact on whether or not keycaps or laser-etched or doubleshot should have been mentioned because laser-etched tend to degrade overtime, getting oily and the legends losing definition. TBH I could go on with my issues with this video. The fact that he thinks Kailh isn't reputable, not mentioning the edgy gamer font when discussing aesthetics, etc. I trust Dmitri on his case reviews, but all the videos on keyboards seemed to be ill-informed and catering to the gamer audience who know nothing except about Corsair, Logitech, and Razer. And of course, muh genuine cherry switches.

To me TKL is perfect, not because of the size but because of the variety! There are so many different brands of TKL boards and 60% boards that are far more diverse when compared to the mainstream majority keyboards out there. I personally believe that there are better and cheaper options due to the larger diversity when it comes to TKL and 60% boards.

I love the Romer-G switches, but it turns out that a lot of people complain about the swtiches not working after 2 years - and I am one of them. The SPACEBAR on my G413 came off. It was never hit or damaged in any way. So don't buy a Logitech keyboard - atleast not untill they fix their build quality issues.

I can touchtyping so I couldn't care less about illuminations, it's even annoying for me. I only have two keyboards with illumination, one is boxed new (Razer Blackwidow Overwatch edition) and in the other is deactivated (Logitech MX Keys). My favorite TKL keyborads are the CM Novatouch (Topre) and Vortex Pok3r (no RGB). Even with those I have to use a Numpad Keyboard (Filco) just because I use a lot of numerical data.

I think it is a great idea to have a desktop keyboard without a numpad. Honestly I rarely ever use my numpad, I am not an accountant. Think of how much more ergonomic your desktop would be without a numpad. Your mouse will be placed in a more natural central position so your right arm will not have not to curve to use your mouse anymore. Even on laptops I think it is stupid because laptops with numpads sacrifice decent speakers for crappy bottom firing speakers just to utilize a numpad.

No to Logitech!! Used two Logitech keyboards with Romer-G switches. Both of them developed the double typing issue after one year of usage - professional office work. Will never again buy a Logitech keyboard. BTW my friend also experienced the same problem. Save yourself the frustration and get Cherry switches.

Honestly, as of now, I own about half a dozen mechanical keyboards, from full, TKL, 65%, 75%. One of the is the Massdrop CTRL. The Massdrop CTRL is the most expensive keyboard I own, and also the worst of any of them, by far. The keycaps are a really weird texture. The board itself feels cheap (because it is). I have a (very annoying) double clicking issue. The switches themselves don't really feel all that great. Not sure if it's a personal opinion, as all of my other keyboards have cherry mx switches. TLDR: Get something from Ducky. If you're gonna spend any amount of money on a mechanical keyboard, make sure it has PBT keycaps.

DO NOT buy the Logitech G Pro, I repeat DO NOT BUY it. Romer G switches are crap and the keycaps are flimsy and easy to break. I had one of my keycaps break in just 2 months of use then you'll scratch your head hard on where to buy keycaps that supports Romer G.
