I've been watching your videos (and applying your advise) for about a week. I'm a middle aged lady who used to sing for her supper. Long story short, life and some health problems have kept me away from singing and as a result lost all control, for nearly two years I've been hoarse on and off - your advise has literally given me my voice back. I cried the day before yesterday as I managed to sing a song, as I manage to get some voice out! Thank you so much for putting this out here for grabs. It's not all about earning a living through singing, some of us just love to tune into our soul through singing and music. Many blessings to you xoxo

This video has been BY FAR the most helpful to me, out of the hundreds singing tips/exercise videos I’ve watched on youtube. I also have a heavy and gritty voice by nature, and doing exercise 1 and 2 provided me with so many “Ah-Ha!” moments that I’ve lost track. 60-70% of my range is locked behind the ironclad door or throat tension unless I spend a 45-60 minutes only warming up my inhale and support muscles. Getting the “One voice” feeling is a 2-3 hour grind for me right now, but the satisfaction of achieving it mean so much to me, based on my former firm belief that I was never had a chance actually sounding good. This video deserves a ton more views, its so underated!

This is by far the best warm up video for me... I also have a low voice that I feel gets in the way of singing- like it pulls down or something and makes it hard to actually sing? Anyway, THANK YOU for sharing this. I tried the sniffing, holding and Z'ing and my voice felt so light afterwards! You are right, there really isn't a time of how long one should do this but you really do feel the difference in your throat. Took all the weight off

Hey Eric ! I love the "Zzz" thing + sharing my experience -- hope I'm not misleading with this but thought it might be helpful to share that the "z" thing felt like "revving up an engine" like an internal engine and then it turned into vocal frying or fracking lol😂 with the " Z" ... But now I'm thinking I shouldn't be too cavalier with adapting the Zzz energy into a fry ..... And then doing the normal gentler fry ... So when you have a moment .... Is it ok to fry / frack the Z? Or might it be harmful... ? Thanks so much 💌

I will use the sniff exercise forever now. After 3 or 4 sniffs, the rib cage unconditionally goes up without me even trying to make it go up. Then, I sing 3 or 4 words. They are flowing like never before! And the sounds come out smoother as well without the lack of continuity of the sounds. A much better leggatto.

@ericarceneaux5 жыл бұрын
RavynTV I can definitely assist you. To be clear, I always recommend that a singer get a laryngoscopy done by an ENT, if they’re in any way uncertain about the health of their voice. But, if that’s not feasible right now, I can do a diagnostic assessment with you in our first lesson; we can then work from there.
