Talked before , 10 ac all open woods . Thinking of trying to make strips in it so deer can not see as far across it ? Got a few doe that use this place don't want to run them off , have a couple food plots 1/8 -/+ ac . I've tried things before but nothing turn out the way I wanted yet ? Thank you

If you plant a food plot in the spring should you re-till the plot in the fall and replant or should you mow it down and re-broadcast seed in the fall?

@@Lorenzo413 depends really on your goals and what the property needs. A lot of times if you are planting annuals to help build soil you would tell that annual in and then replant in the fall for a fall plot. For instance, plant buck wheat in the spring then till it under again to plant your fall plot. If you are planting perennials then no need to till again and again. I like perennials if you are trying to feed 24/7 365 I like annuals for building soil in the spring and then planting again in the fall for an attraction for hunting season and to help feed in winter. But remember food plots are supplemental. The back bone to all healthy deer herds is woody browse/natural browse. Improving the habitat should be number 1 priority if you are aloud to do it. Most people can’t because they are leading the land so they resort to food plots. Which is Great

@ thank you for the information. I recently acquired 30 acres and I’m trying to do habit improvement on my own. I plan on cutting for woody browse and cover along with some smaller food plots and watering holes. Also going to put in one access trail to get in and out and stacking cut trees along the trail and tree stand to avoid spooking deer when going to and from the stand as well as only hunting during the right wind conditions. That’s my plan for this off season and we’ll see how it works out. Thank you for all the videos as they have helped a lot

My point is be careful how many trees are being clear cut and how many are left.
