Hahaha you and me both. They need to have a fence-jumping course as a part of the academy. That cop was very sheltered as a kid, not once have I ever front flipped over a fence. The worst part for the cop is this went on national television and he lost the perp in the first 25 meters of the hurdles. I'm going out on a limp and saying he didn't run track in school.

It seems like police officers back then didn’t get training for mental health crises. Thankfully today, many departments mandate comprehensive de-escalation training. It’s not perfect, but as an ER nurse, I know cops have saved lives that way. Instead of taking these people to jail, they take them to my ER to get seen by a doc. It’s not perfect, but at least it’s a step in the right direction

I’m sure the man is MUCH more inconvenienced by being homeless, than the officer is when someone “begs for money” while he’s on vacation! The officer obviously has never gone hungry in his life.
