Why not just use synthetic engine oil? There is no combustion cycle in a air compressor anyways..... Using manufacture recommendations air compressor oil is nothing more than an extra money grab for the air compressor companies. That is exactly like saying "don't use WD40 on your bike chain" b/c WD40 was designed as a water dispersant, not a lubricant.
