If you listen to ranch fairy, it’s impossible to kill a deer with a bow unless your arrow weighs 700gr and a single bevel head he makes! He acts like we are hunting rhinos, and that Indians never killed an animal with a stick bow and arrows with flint heads! I’ll stick with my 420gr flat shooting arrow at 300 FPS with my expandable head! I’ve been killing big bucks in Illinois for years with that set up and getting pass through!

A friend of mine shoots the same bow, same poundage (70lb) and same arrows as I do. He shot a doe with the grim reaper and hit her shoulder blade and got no penetration. I shot a buck with a 1.75" swhacker in the shoulder at a further distance and I broke both front shoulders. It ruined the head but the buck plowed for 60 yards and expired so it did it's job. I've seen bad things with the rage head also as far as penetration goes. If you watch hunting shows you'll notice a lot of rage shooters have half the arrow sticking out of the deer when they run off. I haven't found the perfect mechanical head yet but I like the swhacker because even if it didn't open for some reason you still get a 1" cut. I've shot a lot of deer with the 1.75" and would love to see it made with a tougher material like titanium or something but it's done well for me. The bigger cut swhacker has a longer thinner point so I stick with the 1.75" because it's a little beefier. Like he said, shooting enough poundage is crucial using mechanical heads.

the g5 deadmeat at 1 1/2 in give good penetration-have used since they came out and taken over 20+ deer with them --almost always get a pass thru unless hitting opposite shoulder-never lost a blade on recovered arrows-after almost 60 yrs of bowhunting this is the best deer size broadhead i ever tried

There are issues with the dead meat and mega meat heads. The point is too recessed for angle shots. There is a video of Michael waddell shooting a big buck quartering away and the broadhead skipped off the side of the bucks rib and didn't penetrate. Check it out. It kept me from using them. Also lusk archery tests them and at times it doesn't completely open.

You guys are crazy and I've used a lot of different broadheads through the years and I like the mechanicals over fixed with my compound bow and crossbow and I absolutely hate rage broadheads and have seen some pretty horrible results from them from friends and family and after shooting many whitetails with bad results from especially multiple nap mechanical heads and will never recommend them and I've come to absolutely love the shwacker broadheads and have had absolutely nothing but great luck with them and I shoot heavy arrows and bolts both over 500gr. and it's very rare that I don't get a complete pass through and they hold up great even the 100gr. and often I shoot my buck and doe with the same arrow or bolt and the same broadhead almost every year and they don't go over 50yds before piling up dead even on a slightly bad shot they get the job done and even then rarely go past 50yds. Now I shoot the 2in. cut and used the Levi Morgan edition shwacker this year and shot my biggest buck quartering towards me and smoked him with complete pass through and he didn't go 30yds. and I cleaned up the bolt and broadhead and without even sharpening went out and smoked my doe with a 40yd. complete pass through and the one blade on the broadhead is slightly bent and really is shootable again if need be. Oh yeah and I'm shooting a almost 10yr old crossbow that is only 330fps but I'm sure it's a lot slower with an over 500gr. bolt and my second favorite mechanical broadhead that I've also had good luck with in the past is the grim reaper broadheads.

Crazy how different people can have such different experiences with the same product. I’ve been bow hunting for 40 years. I’ve lived and hunted in NC and SC my entire life. Unlike a lot of states. We get to kill a lot of deer per season. The first 60 or so deer I killed with a bow. Was with a long list of broadheads . Mostly fixed blades but started experimenting with mechanicals when SC made them legal. Some of them were great and some were really disappointing. But not long after Rage heads came out I tried them , because that’s what I did. Loved to experiment with different broadheads. Once I had killed a couple with Rages. I was done experimenting. I’ve shot 55 or 56 deer with a rage. And my son has shot all 15 deer he’s killed with a rage. And in all that time. We have never had one deploy in flight, never had one fail to open on impact. And have only not recovered 1 deer. And that was a deer that I hit above the spine. And the blood trails. OMG ridiculous. I keep hearing about all the bad experiences people have had with them. And for the life of me I can’t figure out what people are doing wrong. I want to try other heads because it’s in my nature. But they have been so perfect for so long. I just can’t bring myself to shoot anything else.

@@frankgulla8782 yep that's pretty much the exact same results that I've had as well and even shooting multiple deer in the same season with the same broadhead and arrow/bolt and I shot my biggest buck to date here in NW Pennsylvania a heavy 20⅝" nice Pa 9pt. and my doe with the same broadhead and bolt last year using the new Levi Morgan signature series last year and man do I really really like those swhackers they are really sweet and now I'm seeing a new 3in wide cutting swhackers that I'm really looking hard to find in my area but I haven't come across them anywhere yet but oh man I can't wait to get ahold of some 3in swhackers and try them out this year. Those things are gonna be absolutely devastating big time and can't wait to get my hands on some.

@@timreavis1439 well honestly most of the issues I've had with the rage broadheads is when taking any kinda quartering shots no matter how hard the angle is they just don't like to penetrate on any quartering shots even slightly quartering shots. I've had them travel down the side of the deer and practically just slice the hide open all the way back and luckily I was able to get a good quick follow up at a slightly farther distance and get the deer but with the swhackers it doesn't matter the quartering angle, they just perform every time with complete passthroughs no matter what and they just plain down right work so much better all the way around any type of shot over the rage and I usually got a lot deeper penetration with the swhackers as well. I'm just not willing to miss out on a buck of a lifetime over not being able to reliably and confidently take any type of quartering shots especially since my biggest buck to date was a pretty hard quartering towards me and I was able to confidently aim far enough forward to go in the front leg and catch the heart and it went clear through and came out the other side right before the back leg and he didn't go 20yds and was done in a hurry. Just like I like it. The only reason I felt comfortable and confident taking that kinda shot is because of the reliable performance of the swhackers at any angle.
