In 2020, I start to learn a lot about skincare more and the ingredients of skincare that works for oily-acne prone skin. Still in trial and error process, but at least I see some improvement on my skin and it looks better. For the food that I eat, the number one causes of my acne are chocolate and dairy (esp. milk).

Same..its really a trial and error process..alot of ppl say that chocolate doesnt cause acne but for me, it does.. you just really have to pay attention to your skin and how it reacts to certain food,environment,skin care products etc... same goes for milk..i like milk tea so whenever i cant stop the craving.. i know that i have to pay for it bcoz cystic acne would grow on my face...

had a really bad breakouts lasted almost 2 years, back then i stopped using many skin care, stick to only cleanser, toner, serum and moisturiser...1stly its really hard to find cleanser that suits me well, i noticed some of the cleanser made my acne inflamed more..im glad i finally tried the simple cleanser and it really helps reducing the inflammation...i cut dairy product in my every day meal...turns out its really effective...

Girl get some retinol, try Inky List, for a month or two try once a week OVER moisturizer and then under moisturizer once a week and work up to one- three times a week. Get the under eye retinol too (try it over the moisturizer first ) and once you’re done with that bottle try something else gentle like First Aid Beauty. do hyaluronic acid or some other serum that promotes hydration if your skin doesn’t like hyaluronic acid. Get some zit patches off amazon and use that whenever you first feel a bump. They help the mark fade a little but get glycolic acid in a toner to help fade the marks. The Ordinary was too strong for me. My skin stung badly. Pixi toner feels best on mine and everyone comes for me on that 💁🏼‍♀️ lastly some healing ointment that you put on a cut also helps, like neosporin. Seriously. After the zit has healed put that over the red or dark mark and watch it fade. I think that’s all that I wished I’d known a couple years ago. Good luck, also ask me anything else ❤️❤️
@cmntr_
@cmntr_ 3 жыл бұрын
@@tammystiletto same with the glycolic toner! I bought the ordinary because everyone was hating on the small amount of fragrance in pixi, but then i went back to the glow tonic because my skin tolerates it much better! Also one thing I've noticed is that the more mouisture my skin has, the less breakouts i get and the less fine lines i have. I think hyaluronic acid is a good and safe bet at any age (if you use it right). And SUNSCREEN! is the single best thing you can do against premature aging.

Back then i bought products without researching thoroughly leading me to picking up some products that weren't really for me. I started questioning my skincare routine a lot like which one causes which concern and it was exhausting. I had to slather the product with a mindset to finish it quickly. Luckily recently I've switched up to more enjoyable skincare and are designed for my skin. I just found out recently that my skin is dehydrated when I just thought it was just drier in the winter (the struggle of combo skin lol) so now I started adding in humectants back into my routine and some of my products already have some so I’m just trying to hydrate the skin but I’ve been breaking out bad on skin but I really can’t pin point what exactly caused it wether it was food, stress, clogged pores, inflammation, etc but it might a mix of a lot of things but it’s gotten better but that acne is still prominent so I’m trying my best to get products to hydrate the skin and I switched my moisturizer to something that is more exclusive for the night time and continuing to eat healthy but it’s hard when you have Hispanic parents and they basically cook the same things everyday but hopefully before my birthday which is next month that my skin can get better and I can feel confident again in my skin and really working on my mental health cause with being a senior and trying to get my college apps in and I also have epilepsy so thinking about that can be stressful cause I want to take care of myself and now worry my family and friends especially during this time but this video was amazing as always love you guys so much and your advice! ❤️

16:40 wow that is so important and true, thank you. I was looking for the fault in my break outs in myself and you made me realize it's not at all and skin just changes. Earlier this year I barely had any and i was looking for the reasons it's back now, but maybe my skin is just going through a more breakout prone phase and that's okay! 💜 There are no superfoods though and "clean eating" implies other food is dirty or bad so be mindful of that 💜

Yess more positivity surrounding things like this are so important! However, in terms of foods, there definitley are foods that are bad for you. And eating whole foods (eggs, veggies, fruits, etc) is truly one of the best ways to work to support a healthier lifestyle.

As for what I've learned this year skin-care wise, it's been to actually listen to what it's trying to tell me. Although I'm still confused as to what my skin type is, narrowing down on a specific issue or concern I have instead of trying to problem-solve my entire face has left me feeling less stressed about my skincare journey. And speaking of journey, I would really love to see a video dedicated solely to hormones and how to treat our skin with potential hormone-related issues. I have PCOS and that has subsequently led to a plethora of issues, skincare just being one of many. Anyway, thank you both for your time and dedication to this channel. I really have learned so much in just the short time I've discovered you! I wish you both a happy and healthy 2021 and look forward to learning and growing with you two. :)

At the start of the pandemic, my university invited a professor of psychology i think to talk about how to avoid touching your face. The gist: whenever you notice you're touching your face, say "touch", "touching" or "I'm touching my face" out loud. It has worked ok for me so far, i don't touch my face when I'm out and about but when I'm home, after I've washed my hands and taken my mask off, i still touch my face more than i probably should, but less than i have before i tried doing this. When I'm around people i only think "touch!", idk if it's as effective but overall it helps me. Hth

Hey, so you have an OCD condition called dermatillomania. I used to suffer with it too, it took me years to get over it because i didnt know how and i was too embarrassed to tell anyone. Then one day it hit me, the only way to stop is to look at yourself in the mirror and look at every blemish, and when the strong urge to pick at it comes up tell yourself you dont have to be perfect, and that you love yourself and wouldnt hurt yourself just to seem perfect with clear smooth skin. Then force yourself to not raise your hand to your face. The reason why this is so hard but is so important is because you are facing the problem head on. I hope you will take some of my words, and you will get through this! 🙂

The one thing I've learned this year is how IMPORTANT meditating/ deep breathing is for my skin and overall mental health. I have very sensitive skin and a very sensitive body overall. Meditating every morning has greatly decreased the inflammation in my body and as a result, made my skin much calmer. It's also helped with my acid reflux, which was becoming recurrent. If you're a very easily stressed person like myself I HIGHLY recommend meditating for like 5-10 minutes every morning and/or night.

my key take was definitely hydration outside and inside. Drinking water is so important and so's hydrating your skin. I also suffer from eczema and doctors have always told me to moisturize every day. I avoided doing it because my eczema can be all over my body and it is exhausting to apply cream all over your body. Not only that, I couldn't find creams that really deep moisturize my skin. All of the creams I used contained perfume, alcohol and other bad ingredients. This year I've learned so much about the importance of good ingredients list and the CeraVe moisturizer really helped me! it is heavy enough to moisturize my skin but it didn't cause any breakouts for me. Not only that, I now try my hardest to not forget to apply sunscreen whenever I'm out. As for cleansing, I find that cleansing twice a day is too much. Nowadays I'm mostly inside and I have combination (on the more dry spectrum) skin. Cleansing twice a day stripped my natural hydration. It could be that I'm using the wrong cleanser, but the only times I really need to cleanse twice a day is in the hot summer and when I wear makeup which is seldom. I could really relate to the heat part of the video. Fried, sugary, and spicy food can really make my skin flare up. I'm glad I sat down through the whole video! you two are gorgeous. I aspire to have such a good skin even when I'll be your age:)

I think for me, it’s accepting my acne prone skin and stop throwing products at it so much. Like I would use so many products to help but I would also be in a lot of stress so it wouldn’t go away. So now I’m trying to just not stress myself out toooo much and accept that a situation is hard and just go through it. And when I do break out from stress, it’s normal and kind of inevitable. Don’t get so upset over it.

thank you guys for always sharing and making videos, your videos always helping me!🥺💛 btw i got question: i’m as an 16 years old girl, have been struggling with blackheads n whiteheads, and can you guys make more videos about it and suggested the affordable product beside the paula’s choice because it so expensive in the area i live. thank you so much, i always look up to you guys as my older sister🤍

There's a ton of products that may help (AHAs, PHAs, other BHA products, niacinimide, azelaic acid, jojoba oil, rosehip oil, etc) I'd also recommend checking out other youtube channels such as Liah Yoo, Hyram, and Dr.Dray. But the first product that comes to my mind as a cheaper subsitute for Paula's Choice is the Cerave Salicylic acid cleanser.

earlier this year i realize make up is very therapeutic for me hence i used make up a lot and it cause inflammation which got worse when we started wearing mask. My skin got so bad and i was very overwhelmed and stressed which made it worse. Then i started to go on a skin care diet and i only add tretinoin cream bcs I thought “you know what let’s just go for it, you’re breakout is already bad anyway” and yes it was scary at first but now my skin got so much better and i feel better! Less is more, that’s the key for this year for sure

I have learned so much from you both! And the "less is more" saying...I need to do that because I get very impatient and want to try everything and I want it to work now now now so I do buy stuff (and keep stuff from sub boxes) that I dont even neccesarily need but I wanna try! Thanks so much for making your videos easy to understand and fun to watch! Can I ask what website you recommend for finding your chinese element and animal?
