The best way to do Hollywood Studios is to show up around 4 or 5, go on all the rides that are open, have dinner at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant, then get out in time to watch Fantasmic! Earlier in the day we usually are at Disney Springs or just hang out at the pool at the hotel.

Although the Studios park at DLP is bad, it's got a bright future with a few of the 'bad' attractions closing and a Marvel land, Star Wars land and Frozen land all about to be created, with a big lake in the middle hopefully making it much better

Went to WDW for our honeymoon in 1993. Glorious! Enjoyed MGM area which was newer then (the TV Lounge was our favorite, AC and Long Island ice tea) and the Backlot experience was wonderful! Have been there a couple of times with our children since and they enjoyed the Backlot ride also. The last time was in 2010. My daughter (15) wanted to do the American Idol audition at HS. She didn't make the cut. My son wanted to do the Tower of Terror which my daughter and I sat out while my wife and son (12) did the "Tower". My wife laughed as he "freaked out". He thought it would be a piece of cake! Wrong! They liked the TV Lounge also (unending soft drinks for our son, he found out you can overdo a good thing!). Sorry to hear about the current situation with HS.

My first visit to WDW was almost 20 years ago when it was still MGM. The week we were there I remember visiting MGM once. My husband and I now go every year and we still visit this park the least. Toy Story Land is great but we really miss Great Movie Ride. We hate the current Star Wars ride (which has its own terrible smell) and while I look forward to the new Star Wars area, it’s not a major pull for us. We will go to the park for the Brown Derby, but the rest of the food we can leave. It has a lack of content for little kids (we took my son this year and he was about 15 months old and could only do toy story mania, which he couldn’t have cared less about). As a family with young kids we won’t be spending more than two half days there during any week long trip. Or maybe even just 2-3 hours. We definitely spend way more time at MK and Epcot because there are more options for food and entertainment and rides for young kids. Overall Hollywood Studios is very disjointed as a park. It all feels very mishmashed, kind of thrown together and many things very outdated. It’s also not named well anymore considering there is nothing movie or studios about it.
@hollyadelia5 жыл бұрын
The worst thing about HS is the complete removal of nearly everything about how movies are made. I loved all that stuff when I was a kid. I never cared whether or not they were actually filming movies there, I loved the green screen demonstration and the sound lab where you could add your own sound effects and voices and the animation studio where you could see animators working and of course the crown jewel of the theme park- Catastrophe Canyon. I wish they would bring some of that stuff back. And more Muppets!

Disney dropped the ball on this park. I, as a cast member at the time, loved this park. I get it that no wants movie nostalgia anymore (masses have never seen a movie pre-2010 - their nostalgia). The sole original purpose was to showcase Disney artifacts and history (Disney's Oscars, dawings, letters. etc, then Dorothy's red slippers. etc. due to MGM). I could buy vintage true Hollywood dresses, scripts, photos, sit at Schwabs, etc. Now all of the storefronts are DIS merch.

It will obviously change when Galaxy’s Edge and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway opens, but my biggest complaint about the current park is it’s too big to be half day and too small to be a full day; it’s a 2/3 day park. This makes it tough to decide between a single-day park ticket or spending the extra money on a park hopper.

hollywood studios was built on the idea that you can "ride" the movies and get a behind the scene tour of how movies are made but since the early 2000s, most dvds already come with behind the scenes footage and how they made that specific movie so the "magic" of movie making became outdated. i think disney is trying to change hollywood studios into a werid pixar/marvel/star wars theme park, they opened up toy story land, i wouldnt be surprised of a possible cars and incredibles expansion in the animation courtyard and old animation offices, rumors have circled around about a monster inc retheme on rockin rollercoaster as well as a possible marvel land on echo lake and Indiana jones (if disney can get the full rights from universal), there pretty much trying to build a brand new theme park but there so far behind the eightball they're just rushing it all, closing more than half the park, and charging people full price for half a park. honestly if anyone wants to go to hollywood studios, my advice wait another 7 years till its complete

Besides not having the same amount of things to do as the other 3 parks (it’s the easiest one that gets cut when I go and don’t have enough time for all 4, and I’m sure I’m not the only one), it’s also poorly themed. It just comes off as a sort of island of misfit toys for attractions that don’t neatly fit into the other 3 parks. With work it could be a Magic Kingdom (with various “lands”) for the live action/less “magical” Disney franchises, but right now it still feels like the place they’re just dumping things that won’t fit into the others.

Visited Hollywood studio for the first time last month. I didn't like it - We saw the shows like Indianna jones & Beauty & the beast which was good but such a long wait overall - It looks less good than Universal studio - Building scale looks tiny to me and I didn't fell like it is Hollywood . Went to Star Wars Disney party it was weird because our table was in a corner in a different room than the party I called the manager and they told us that they don't have enough room for all guest to be in the party then I asked why they sold us tickets if they didn't have room and they refunded us - also there is not enough shade during sunny days - Not great really I tried hard to like it - If I have a recommendation : just skip this park it feels like a waste of time to me.

Honestly, it is by far my least favorite park. The only thing that I truly love that's still there is Muppet Vision 3-D. I can say I enjoyed Toy Story Land but its not something that I would "have to" wait in line forever for. I really enjoy Rockin' Roller Coaster, but if it's down, I'm not gonna have my trip ruined. While I enjoy Beauty and the Beast and Indiana Jones shows, I can miss those on a Disney trip if I am pressed for time. I'm still disappointed that the Great Movie Ride is gone cause I always loved that ride. And Star Wars is absolutely nothing worth me going to.

Best and worst of wdw transportation!

They did that a few months ago. Best were the buses, ferry boat between the Magic Kingdom and the TTC, ridesharing services like Lyft (including the Minnie Vans) and Uber and the resort boats to the parks or Disney Springs. Worst was the monorail.

Totally agree with Craig about Disney Studios in Disneyland Paris. Overall, I was unimpressed by Disneyland Paris. With that said, I would add the Mickey and the Magician show to worth doing if you like shows.
