I think if disney wants to put back a game show into hollywood studios they should do Family Feud. Two families who volunteer to play compete against each other and whoever wins wins like a free night or a fastpass for any ride for the rest of their trip.

It should be noted that the Festival of Fantasy Parade isn't necessarily full of original floats. Two of the parade floats (the first one with the princesses and the last one with the pink Monstro) come from Tokyo Disneyland's Jubilation parade and were outfitted to fit the Festival of Fantasy Parade.

Another suggestion: changing Toontown to Dumbo's Circus. The new Dumbo ride with two ride vehicles and the interactive indoor queue is a MASSIVE upgrade over anything that was there before, and the Casey Jr. splash area is much better than Donald's boat. The downside at all was losing Mickey's house.

I totally agree with Charles about IPs. Nemo works because you get off the ride and are immediately encouraged to learn and explore with your favorite characters (unless you're Pete I guess). Frozen doesn't work because I'm pretty sure no one is inspired to learn about Norway when they come off this ride. The only section with information on the country is a small building that I'm sure most people don't even know is open to the public. I love the three caballeros and think it does inspire learning about Mexico...in the 1940s but after watching Coco, I was excited to learn about Mexico and think it'd be a great IP to add. At Epcot it should be about the follow up with inspiration and learning through fun

RE: Original Living Seas. As a small child, I was totally fooled into thinking that when we were descending "down" into the sea base. You got on an "elevator" and went "down". I really REALLY thought that we really were really going below the water's surface and it left me DEATHLY afraid that something would go wrong and if a tank broke we would all be trapped and drown. It was not until years and years later as I walked OUT of the Nemo gift shop doors without having to "ride the elevators back to the surface" that I realized it was all on ground level. I felt SO dumb.

For me my number 1 attraction I miss is Food Rocks, I come from a very musical family so every time we went to Epcot when I was a kid, I knew all the songs and melody to the original version of the songs and I loved listening and watching the show. My biggest problem with American Idol was that the grand prize was geared towards a Golden TIcket for someone to audition--which means it's only worth it if you're between 15-27 (or some variance close to that). If they bring it back the prize should be something that anyone can win and get use of--say free night's stay in a disney resort or something along those lines.

I agree. The old ride was better. The Nemo ride is weird. It just seems random and doesn't seem like a story. I guess it's better than nothing, but what more can you do with that attraction? Unless they extended the ride somehow.
@Thechumpcorn2Blogspot7 жыл бұрын
I'm glad someone said it! the ride is a joke. I got a fastpass for it and as my Wife and I ran through the completely empty line (It was December 31st, the busiest day of the year for Epcot) we got on it and was immediately pissed off because of how bad it was and how we wasted that fastpass!
@clearmist71707 жыл бұрын
TheChump, to be fair, the fastpass system forces you to choose things that aren't that popular on purpose. There are limitations on what rides you can choose to get fastpasses on, so they sometimes only give you a choice of rides that aren't as popular as the main ticket attractions.
@Thechumpcorn2Blogspot7 жыл бұрын
I agree with that, However, I made the faspasses 30s out and picked that over living with the land... I actually like living with the land. But, Epcot is very restrictive with what rides you can choose. you pretty much have to choose crappy rides if you get any of the 3 good ones.

I feel like I’m the only person who can’t stand The Seas with Nemo and Friends! I feel like they could have done so much more with a Finding Nemo themed ride and this ride feel like a cheap “let’s slap some screen and an IP in front of an omnimover and call it a ride.” I know the space didn’t have enough room to do Little Mermaid-style ride but if feel they just took clips from finding Nemo and projected it inside of a fish tank. Like they took the Finding Nemo ride in Cali and took out the parts that make that ride cool.

Like a few others who have commented, I also miss The Living Seas. As a kid, I 100% believed that I was going deep under water on the hyrdolators, and I thought I was visiting a real lab. As for the pre-show film, friends and I still quote "and rained...and rained. The deluge." The ride part wasn't even the main attraction for me. It was getting to watch the fish and sharks and manatees and to see that scuba diver come out of the water tube and talk to us. But if Pete is looking at the ride aspect alone and disregarding the aquarium aspect, then I understand why he prefers The Seas.

Honestly Fighting a Dragon to steal his treasure, going through a hedge maze to find a Unicorn, and seeing other mythical creatures like Centaurs, Pegasus's, and Griffins sounds a lot more fun in my opinion than a land inhabited by Smerfs. Side Tangent: At 4:54 when Sean said that they’re getting rid of the funny back and forth banter with the historians because the kids don't like the jokes? BS! They are getting rid of the aspect of what the older audience members liked about the Frozen sing along! So what if the kids don't like (or understand) the jokes?! Pete you are wrong! I know several people who miss the movie The Sea -which explained the creation of the seas/oceans on planet Earth. The Nemo ride is cute but the previous version set up the whole aquarium better and made that whole time is sea base that much more enjoyable. The ride itself went through and under the aquarium and displays with an accompanying voice ever explaining or educating the riders. Replacing it with Nemo weakened the experience at the Sea Base! (no set up). They took an exceptional unique experience and gave us a cookie cutter Disney dark ride.

Frozen sing a long is only good depending on whose playing the hosts for that performance. I’ve seen it with some pretty bad hosts where it made sitting in there unbearable cause I have nothing to make up from listening to songs from frozen the whole time. But whenever I’ve seen it with good hosts who are naturally funny and not forcing the jokes, it’s a lot more enjoyable. That’s a shame that they’re taking some of the commentary out.

The reason why I don't like Toy Story Mania is because it uses big screens (similar to Universal Studios, over actual set pieces and animatronics. Toy Story Mania is supposed to be the analogue for Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. Sort, Woody's version of the Buzz Lightyear ride. I love hot the Buzz Lightyear ride pretends like you're actually in out space, it's a great concept. I would have loved if Toy Story Mania would have been like stepping into a cowboy world, with small setpieces and with thingss off in the distance (similar to buzz lightyear) or perhaps similar to the Frontierland Shooting Arcade. Actual animatronics and actual set pieces. That's what I would prefer. Not those big screens.

I agree with this list for the most part. Share A Dream Come True Parade was amazing, but when they updated it to Celebrate..., it became a forgettable waste of recycled floats and time. Festival of Fantasy brings back the spirit of Share... with new and amazing floats. The one thing I can't agree on in this list is The Living Seas. The Nemo update is a great face-lift for the pavilion. However, Sea Base Alpha was not a bad attraction, and based on the title of the video, I don't think it fits the criteria of "bad attractions made better" because it was not bad to begin with.

There was a united technology pre film, but the main film was about the how the oceans formed and some of the wonders of that exist beneath the seas, and how much we haven’t discovered yet. It wasn’t an awful film at all. The hydrolaters (which went down all of about 2 inches) were a bit of a time waste, but like the rooms at the haunted mansion it’s all about crowd control. Don’t get me wrong I think Nemo is a better update but the original living seas wasn’t bad. Except the big blue world song is the worst thing ever composed!

The changes you reference in this show to the Frozen Sing-Along is disappointing! I try to see obtain a fast pass each time I visit this park and thoroughly enjoy the 'banter' between the 'historians'., and adds a fun feel - that pulls the adult audience and younger set together. This creates a portal of where and why the 'songs' have the significance to the story line. I feel this is germane to the overall presentation. The anticipated changes will create a over simplification and since their contribution is limited but well placed to keep the pace moving - I feel is a poor choice on behalf of Disney!

I didn’t really like the nemo ride tbh, definitely not worth the wait. Most of the voice actors didn’t even return for it. You could tell when a voice actor did reprise their role, but if they didn’t it was really noticeable. The theming is really good, but the ride itself is pretty meh.
@clearmist71707 жыл бұрын
I disagree with Toy Story Mania. It really shouldn't exist as a ride concept. It came out during the recession when they were trying to make cheap rides and during a time when "touchscreen" devices (like the iPad) were popular and exciting. Most people are already very well familiar with touchscreen technology and we can do that at home so doing it in Disney to me seems redundant and not as interesting. I'd rather have a dark ride or some other type of attraction. Perhaps include some augmented reality or more sensory (air-blowing) and sound effects and light effects. I understand they're wanting to build an attraction in a constrained place and the theming is great, but to me the ride is a boring concept and is mindless and is just to get kids distracted with playing.

Why is the guy complaining about American Idol experience? He knew what he was getting into when he tried about. Such a dumb take. This show was different every time. Different judges, contestants, host. It was funny and fun.

I liked who wants to be a millionaire. It was different haha. I enjoyed it but it wasn't fun.

I loved the Who Wants to be a Millionaire show. I was so mad that when I was old enough to actually win, they got rid of it. Toy Story in meh for me. I enjoy it when I'm actually on it, but it doesn't ruin my trip if I can't go on it.

I actually preferred Celebrate a Dream Come True. I think that Festival of Fantasy is kind of gimmicky.
