The Kobalt kits also have normal size tools that are equivalent to the ones sold separately. They're are the best tools on the market, but they are pretty good for beginner tools. They have a 10 piece pliers set that is really good for around $50.

What would be the best tool for removing crown molding? Is a chisel sufficient or better to get a specialized tool like a Warner Pry Bar for Molding & Trim Removal, Painter's Series, 10350A?

Awp was my favorite open mouth tool tote until husky came out with theres which is built better and studier.

Within the first showing of your tools I see a definite problem... You need at least 2 adjustable wrenches if you don't have sockets or a regular wrench set... Always need a backup

Almost the same as mine. Only difference is that i take a multibit rather than several screwdrivers. And, I have exactly the same wise climaps One bigger one smaller, exactly the some.

yeah the piquick marine, has switchable head for different clamp size, as well as 8 bits. i suppose the reason he has the mass screwdrivers is because sometimes you need the skinny screwdriver for recessed screws. but 9 out of 10 times the piquick is good enough but it pays to be ready for any eventuality.

The paint scrapers... I buy them by the handful. Can't recommend those enough.

Just buy a painters tool. Its metal and will last way longer.

@@joshfloyd I use the plastic scrapers for more delicate work. Definitely keep a 5 in 1 on deck too.

NEVER buy a full set tool kit...build up slowly with high quality tools

If you don't have this basic stuff to start with, you probably don't have the skills to be a handyman. It takes many years to learn so many different trades so you should at least have some of them from the work you have been doing over the years. If for some reason you lost your tools, the best place to get your tools is at swap meets and yard sales. For $75 you can obtain the majority of this stuff. Then probably go with a Ryobi cordless tool set to start with.

@@qzetu nah man. Get the best tools you can get your hands on. They'll save you money and headache in the long run due to being higher quality and lasting much longer say for example Knipex Cobras teeth will grip and last wayy longer and better than iwin visegrip water pump pliers that wear down fast and don't grip as well.

@@rjskum688 I'm all for that. I was just talking to someone on a small budget who is just starting out. Ryobi cordless tools are ok for probably a year and they have very good kits with everything you basically need. After you make some money then you can jump to DeWalt or Milwaukee.

@@qzetu oh I gotcha. Ya we all started out with cheap tools unless dad or grandpa handed some down. These days I've got knipex,wiha and megapro. Most respected brands like klien are selling out and making cheap tools now. It's a shame. Seems like US made tools are harder and harder to find so we have to get German, Canadian and believe it or not Mexican and Japanese tools.
