I think the 2nd question is extremely important how you answer because if you want to move up in the company you’re interviewing for don’t tell them. Please say to master the position you’re interviewing for in order to be a great access or somewhere along those lines.

What I use as a weakness I say" in the past I would overbook appointments on the same day, which had caused disorganization and frustration. I have learned to stretch appointments for clientele that best assist their needs and have dedicated myself to utilize calendars." If anyone wants to use that - you're welcome to 😊

I am almost 24. I am still applying for business admin jobs after over 75 unsuccessful interviews. I have ALWAYS prepared thoroughly prior to each interview and been well presented, confident and on time/early. I have never given up. I have been applying since age 16. Should I quit? I am sick of wasting hours every night and day online and reading books and asking careers coaches for help and still not being employed! I want to do at least get started in a basic business admin job! I'm not asking for gold! I AM resilient, emotionally intelligent, professional etc but personally and mentally and physically I am beyond exhausted and not moving forward! How can I guarantee that I get an interview and get offered a job I like, in a good company, in a good place, in a good environment ASAP? You would not believe the efforts I have put in over the last 7 years! I have been to apprenticeship interviews and entry level, non-apprenticeship interviews. I have been on work based courses and passed. I have spoken to careers coaches and more. They all say I am doing all the right things. Why am I still here typing away at home asking strangers for help? Will I ever be accepted and employed by good people?

Z V Hey I’m the same age as you and went through the same situation. What I did is ask around for volunteering work in an office. It’s also a good start to experience in an office environment.

Perhaps you have found work! If not, what worked well for me was going through a temp agency. I liked this because they have the established relationships with the business already and do most of the leg work and "selling" of your qualifications for you! Not sure what area you are in so I wont site any here, but a quick Google search for temporary employment agencies in your area should garner some good results

it is a good job in the right workplace. if you want to get information about the different things that go on as an admin check out the admin allies podcast. also practically perfect pa has great info.

Depends on where you work. But for the most part it’s sitting 6-7 hrs a day depending how you set up your work station. Go for it if you hadn’t done so.

I'm in IT industry and I am genuinely interested in becoming an admin assistant (even though they have a lower salary). However I am 32 years old and my question is, I'm I too old for that sort of job? And is this job considered generally a female role?
@cynthiaoiwo30415 жыл бұрын
There is system admin that pays more.
@keyanna50545 жыл бұрын
Generally, it is a woman dominated industry, but that means absolutely nothing if you are a qualified candidate, so go for it! 32 is definitely not too old. You will have to work harder to make sure you explain how your strengths in IT relate to the admin role, but if you can successfully draw the parallels, you will do just fine. I did not have the standard admin background and had to stretch the truth a bit during my interview to get in as an EA at a top tech company, but I knew I could be successful if given the chance. I have been here for 2 years now and I am thought of as being a top admin lead, so I say go for it.

My safe answer is - five years is a long way ahead, the market is too fast with AI and automation, What I can do is be the best and excel at it like it's nobody's business. It is important to be accepted and respected and I want to do well in my performance review!

Why a company keep a person for 25 years? If this question is asked by someone, what should we say Sir :)
@dickJohnsonpeter5 жыл бұрын
not sure what you mean by that exactly but if you're asking why a company should allow the same employee to work for them for 25 years I'd say because the employee didn't quit or get fired lol. But seriously, they are most likely trying to hear something more along the lines of 'because an employee who has worked for the company for 25 years not only has proven himself to be an asset worthy of keeping but also is an employee who is dedicated and has a significant knowledge about his job and the company. These days it is becoming rarer for employees to dedicate themselves long term and I think that is an important quality to have as an employee'.
