Gotta love the irony of an UHQR release of Elephant. A recording made in a tiny studio with castoff equipment by a band that didn't even bother to master their first two albums.

I don’t think a recording has to be ‘audiophile’ or focussed on smooth sound to be beautiful in a audiophile presentation. A good well defined presentation of a rough recording can be beautiful. I would love a UHQR of The Velvet Underground & Nico for example.

I have the UHQR Aja and I’ve noticed a distortion in the vocals, especially at the choruses. Have you noticed this?

I don't love the Aja UHQR actually. I favor my Cisco pressing which I rank #1 with my mint AB 1006 OG ranked #2. The UHQR is #3 here.

If I see another review of A Love Supreme or Aja, I'm going to scream. When people talk of the great sound of Aja, they mean the audio recording, right, because Aja, the music, stinks, just like it did in 1975, or whenever it came out. Nice video enjoyed watching.

The audio recording and sound quality is indeed the point of most of the current reviews. The music itself also has a legendary reputation but it is more a point of discussion than the sound quality.

Just to clarify, ‘the music stinks‘ in your opinion, for their millions of fans around the world, and I’m one, their music is fantastic. I can never understand for the life of me, why you would make a statement like that, as though it’s some sort of fact, ridiculous.

White Stripes is on UHQR on 4 sides just as the original.
