I was a snowboard instructor in the Cascade mountains for about 10 years. I drove up quite often before the plows had a chance to clear the highways. The Kumho AT51's worked great! I now have the AT52. I think the new tire is a better tire for the most part, however, the AT51's were better in the snow and ice.

Funny, ran the Falkens many years ago and now run the Toyos and find the Falkens slightly better in snow and the Toyos slightly better in the rain, but the difference is very minimal either way. I live in Minnesota, so we get all different types of snowfall and a decent amount of rain, so I've been able to do a good amount of comparing between the two.

They really are not. I've had them, we get 300", I would never buy them again. Destination XTs are far better in the winter.

They work well in the Sierra Nevada cement snow we get here, just ok in the ice..

They were very bad my first winter here in Alaska. I went with the Toyo AT-3’s based on recommendations from people who had been here a lot longer than me, they were right! I am putting new ones on my Jeep, Power Wagon, and wife’s Ram 1500 throughout the summer so we are ready for the winter when it returns. Specifically, the Toyo’s are great in the rain, snow, and ice, and the tread wear is fantastic. They balance out nice, and through three years of off roading and hunting, I have never had a puncture. Anyway, I hope this real use review helps😎👍

I have ran the Outposts in winter conditions, they are good in snow but I would sipe them for improved ice traction. That being said - I run dedicated winters in winter and the difference cannot be overstated. Don’t compromise. It’s not worth it
