I feel like the problem with newer Pokemon isn't that they're "running out of ideas," but that they're trying too hard to make their Pokemon stand out, so they overdesign what could have been good ideas, or they just make them look stupid. The Dracoarctizoltvish mons are prime examples. Cool idea, horrible exiecution as far as deisigns go.
