I guess the second screen on the back is unnecessary, especially if it's touch sensitive. All the things it features could easily be done with just one AMOLED screen on the front. The main reasons why I am saying this are that one can never look at both sides of their phone at the same time, that it removes the space for distinctive design features that can be made on the back (take as example the Honor 8 or Google Pixel phones) and that accidental touches are more probable (I don't know if and how Yota managed this so I am not sure if this reason is valid). According to me, the ZTE Hawkeye feature displayed here would have been the one that solves most problems in everyday usage, if the phone wasn't cancelled.

Thought the same. Oh no you can't reach the opposite corner with your thumb... well I bet the eye tracking isn't precise enough for that either. They just showed a replacement for swipes, which is easily done with the thumb. And moving your eyes like that would be annoying. Eyes are made to look around, not move things around. Fingers on the other hand.... they're made to move things around.

What if I told you that mostly any cell or smartphone in history can be operated with only the thumb and index finger of the same hand holding the device? they are designed that way in the first place. There are things that are easier and/or faster when done with two hands (like typing or zooming) but those features weren't mentioned in that eyetracking-advert (because they most likely don't exist making the whole eyetracking function utterly pointless and odd).
