A lot of people are being very critical of Georgie's previous owners. The lump is 3 years old. Gee, I wonder if there could have been anything going on in the world in 2020 that would prevent a dog from being taken to the vet? Any global catastrophe that might take the owner's income from normal to non existent? It's possible that the dog did see a vet when that lump first appeared but the owner was told it's just a fatty lump, not serious, and if it gets bigger to come back. By the time the lump was bigger it was still simply a fatty lump only now the vets can't perform elective surgeries during the 'hypothetical' thing that may or may not have started 3 years ago. The smaller lumps are more recent and it's highly probable that Georgie's owner was simply not able to afford $3000 - $5000 for a surgery on their pet plus whatever labs, medicines, chemotherapy treatment and follow up appointments would cost. The owner did the right thing by giving Georgie up to an organization who can, and are, helping her. There is enough h@te in the world. Let's try a little empathy for a change, shall we?

This is a compillation episode, and the one it came from is incredibly old. It originally aired in 2014. Hypothetical things that happened over half a decade later had no effect on it. That said, I agree that circumstances change, and her owners may have had problems crop up that prevented them from getting her care, but three YEARS they had, and they could have done things like asking to make payments or fund raising.

Regarding mammary tumors: if you want to save your dog from getting one, let her be neutered as early as possible. Only without the presence of hormones, you have a good chance no mammary tumor grows. And: a dog with mammary tumors can still have a life worth living. My dog had a tumor when I adopted her and the shelter didn't bother to let her get surgery. She was too old for surgery when she got under my care. Her tumors grew, but then stopped. They are at a stillstand for almost five years now. Although she has signs of tumors on her lung xray, she's still doing great.

Awesome video, as usual. I'm thinking that it would have been better to start with the hardest one first when you are strong and fresh. And not wait until you are tired and have been under stress for hours. If you do the hardest one first then you have less stress doing the others. Just my humble opinion, of course. Please let me know where my thinking is faulty.

Love pet rats and mice. Have had both in my life. They are sweet, gentle, loving, and definitely not dirty. They are always washing themselves, and they only smell because their owners are slack in keeping their cages clean enough. Doesn't mean I'm keen on the wild varieties though. // I'm no expert, but I would've thought that getting Georgie's mammary tumour out would have taken priority. The leg lump wasn't bothering and the hernia didn't seem to be either. If the tumour had taken too long to get out, then she could've come back at a later date to have those two issues sorted. Can anyone explain Chris's decision to deal with the issues in the order he did? Very curious to know. // Oh Hugo. I'm in love. // So sad that Scott wasn't able to keep Ruby. // Black Shepherd - beautiful.

But the point is that a vet has to ve able to treat them all... All though ive never seen a vet trear like pet spiders or fish, had anyone else? Everyone has different pets they love and I wouldn't want nothing to happen to anyones loved ones

Why do they blur out the procedure? This is educational and being able to see what they look like is important to the learning process. Why block the process? It isn’t obscene, it is life. @@luxtobeyou And? I fail to see your point. If you take on the responsibility of owning an animal you accept everything that goes with that, including providing proper healthcare. If you can't meet the basic needs of your animal companion for their lifetime, don't get one, it's really that simple! And it may have escaped your attention but this is Australia and the UK, both countries, like most civilised nations, have universal healthcare. America is, once again, a backwards country that refuses to have proper healthcare for its citizens. That's your issue, not the rest of the world's, stop judging every other country by your woefully inadequate standards.

It might have grown quickly or been hard to notice beneath fur. It’s possible they couldn’t afford medical care for their pet if it wasn’t an emergency. Sometimes it happens slowly and people are in denial because they don’t want to confront that they may lose a beloved family member. For those with small pets, like the rats, who tend to get lumps normally, and for whom anesthetic can be highly risky, waiting may have been the better choice. Some owners are bad owners, don’t get me wrong, but it doesn’t hurt us to assume the best in people. Let the actions of irresponsible owners reflect on them, don’t let hate and assumptions reflect on you
