If i had a nickel for every time a piece was created and first used as the eyes for a group of villainous bionicle character, then was so commonly used elsewhere and given a name that removed its connection to bionicle, is have two nickels. which isnt a lot, but its weird that it happpened twice, right?

I also started to notice how many LEGO left parts from Bionicles, they often use them in new Ninjago, Monkey Kid and Dreamzzz sets, and so I wanted to do a challenge and try to assemble a Bionicle only from the technic and those parts that Lego left from them, I also use new elements of armor and weapons from Ninjago mechs. In my posts I post my attempts to do this, it is difficult, but possible.

If we go purely on number of sets a piece is in the Barraki eye is in over 500. I still think the milage they got from the Bohrok eye is arguably more impressive though.

I think the biggest connection between all of these pieces is their flexibility. Each of them are simple and practical, lacking theme specific details that would hold them back from fitting in situations they weren't intended for. Its much harder to use masks in new ways than it is to use a generic armor/weapon piece, or especially the ball connector.

Bohrok eyes and the ribbed hose actually aren't the same ones from bionicle, the ribbed hose now has a more simple base and the bohrok eyes are emptier inside (they used to have a bubble shape on the inside) now they are just fully empty and about the rahkshi staffs, remember that lerakh's staff was also pretty long lasting as it made an appearance in power miners in orange
