Hi Alicia can you do a top 5 or 10 favorite Sonia G face brushes for all the complexion tasks and a top 5 or 10 Sonia G eyeshadow brushes for all the eye tasks? That would be very helpful! ❤❤
@denisemarie61317 күн бұрын
Hello, Juju 😊. I am being practical here: I own a lot of Sonia‘s brushes. They all are lovely. But I find it definitely matters to personal taste and usage for each brush type. So when you do listen to peoples favorites, do keep in mind how face shapes differ and make up styles differ. That is, if you want to end up with LESS FUDE in your collection 😄🫣🤗. Otherwise, like me, you will end up with some brushes not used so readily. Although we can switch up our makeup techniques, allowing these less used brushes to be in the limelight. 🎉. Alicia does provide great fude reviews!! She’s one smart gal. 💕

Btw girl if you don't try the 3D angled cheek brush from Bobo x Yoshiki in the high grade saikoho with the kakishibuzome dye, you're missing out! But please don't try it because then everyone will want one... and I need a backup ;)

Only 5?? 😭😭😭 by the way I just spent 3k on my 3 year long fude wish list, no more brushes allowed!! I’m anxiously awaiting for them to come so I can bathe in them like Scrooge McDuck😩😅 I bought the Bobo x Chikuhodo owl powder brush but they only have it with the wooden handle now 🥺💔 and I just bought that smaller blue fox dragon brush on Mercari last night and made my second fudebobo order to get the paddle one too 😂

@alicia, watching your reviews are like watching sportscasters review the top athletes and their stellar performances throughout the season. The way that you break down the technicalities involved in constructing makeup brushes, as well as constructively critiquing and analyzing the formulas for all of the makeup you review, is phenomenal! Your reviews make me appreciate the art & science of it all. Thank you so much!!💞💞

You truly are the queen of fude, my go to source, and the person that introduced me to this incredible albeit incredibly luxurious (🤑) world. I loved your picks 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽

Alicia you are the Fude go to! So many of my brushes in my collection came from your enthusiastic recommendations! My top 5 would be my Chikuhodo powder brush (of which I have 4) Sonia G Jumbo bronzer, Wayne Goss calligraphy cheek brush with bamboo handle, Sonia G jumbo concealer, Sonia G jumbo blender

I have the two Yoshiki eye brushes you mention and I agree - they are extraordinary because they are so unusual yet so practical. They give an ability to deposit in a precise but soft way and then diffuse powder shadow that makes them ideal for crease and transition work on my small eye area, and I can also use them for a soft outer v look and to lay down or smoke under the eye if needed. Two GOATs for me, literally.

Great video, as always, with terrific picks! I'm so excited to see that the Sonia G Traditions #1, 2, and 3 face brushes are now available for purchase individually on Beautylish. I just ordered #2 and #3 and expect they'll be among my top faves. My top Fude spot for 2024 goes to the BoBo/CHIKUHODO cheek highlight brush CH-1, for its design, versatility, and ability to pick up and deposit so many powder textures perfectly. Happy New Year!

yay this is always my favorite best of! 😍😍🖌️🖌️ my stand outs from the year would have to be Sonia G’s traditions t6 and her sunset cranes arched worker as you mentioned (as well as the brief but thrilling re-promote of her original blue squirrel bristle crease one & pencil one), and the gray squirrel/saikoho goat blend cheek brush from the Chikuhodo 2025 antique pink collection. their goat bristle selection never fails to impress me!

Love it when you start the video with a bare face. First off... your bare face is gorgeous. And I love to see it for its own sake. Second... I'm left stunned by how good your base game is. You are so skilled at giving your skin such a natural looking glow up. Seeing it all come together from a bare beginning leaves me with such an appreciation for your skills.

At the moment her arched worker shape is available in her kakishibu line-it’s dyed goat hair, but will deliver a stronger blend versus squirrel.

Torture is so right! I struggled so much with my top five, and certainly pondered many of your own picks while I was choosing. Except alas I do not have the squirrel/saikoho owl brush. And I know it was just re-released, but I made the mistake of adding up my spend for 2024 before that brush was available again and was feeling a little momentary guilt 🫣🤣

Newbie here... what's fude?
@aliciaarcher15 күн бұрын
Fude is “brush” in Japanese and in this context brushes made in Japan.
@darahorcasitas976115 күн бұрын
@aliciaarcher Thank you! I thoroughly enjoyed the video and had an inkling it meant "fancy" (which I'd say Japanese brushes certainly are! Lol) but figured i should know for sure
@krisushi117 күн бұрын
Alicia, who told you to pronounce Fude as 'fude- ay'? I was showing this to my Japanese friend and nothing about the word Fude would incite her to pronounce it the way you do. I've felt the same also. I don't know if Fude has an American website, as the one that I use comes directly from Japan with receipts in Japanese plus labels on the brushes also named in Japanese. The site will automatically use prices in ¥ (yen), until one changes it to the currency that is applicable. It does not stock the brushes that you have shown in your video except for one brand only. I have been trying out several brushes from Fude this year, through different brands with various bristle types. I've been very impressed by their quality of brushes and how fast they are able to have them made up, no matter the brand. When I require anymore brushes, I will definitely be going back to Fude. (As I already own just about every brush that Réphr has in their arsenal, it's time for something else). You're certainly lucky to have those brushes given to you at no cost. The purchases that I made last year definitely cost me a pretty penny!🇦🇺💖👩🏼🎨

I know that vowels are usually pronounced, and because I don’t have a Japanese accent, the “e” will sound different when I say it. And since your friend is Japanese, that is probably the case. I probably need to say “Fu-deh” versus “Fu-day” and that’s an easy fix.
@kr888217 күн бұрын
There are brands that are not Japanese that have brushed made in Japan. Such as Sonia G and Wayne Goss to name but two. They go through the same production.
@kiraree379617 күн бұрын
Alicia’s video isn’t about fudejapan website (that’s just a website like others, that stocks japanese made brushes). Fude means brush or writing/caligraphy brush in japanese, and in cosmetics/beauty generally refers to japanese hand-made brushes. As stated in another comment above, there are many beauty brands (japanese and not japanese) which produce hand-made brushes in Japan. SoniaG, Rephr, M Brush by Maxineczka, Wayne Goss, Chikuhodo, Hakuhodo, Koyudo, Tanseido, and many others if they are hand-made in Japan - they are fude. So Alicia named top 5 of her favourite fude of 2024

@@aliciaarcher I'm not saying you're wrong, just curious that's all.💖
@krisushi117 күн бұрын
@@kr8882 I'm well aware of this. I mentioned Réphr in my comment. When I heard Fude mentioned, I thought Alicia was referring to the website where many Japanese brushes are made and sold. The comment under yours has explained what she meant, which now makes sense.💖

I knew this would be a good one! Narrowing down to just 5 was impossible for me, so I refused. 🤭 I almost included the Koyudo Yoshiki Blue Fox Buffer, but I changed my mine. I wanted the baby Niji from the Sunset Cranes set, but it was only available as a set. I didn't want/need the other brushes, so I skipped it. The TF1 keeps calling my name, but I continue to resist since I have the Mt Fuji brush. They're similar in shape & size, though I know I'd get more use out of the TF1. I'm trying to be smarter about my brush purchases, especially since storage space is at a premium. We'll see how much longer I can hold out. 😬🫣
