God bless, and enjoy: The Passion of the Christ, For Greater Glory, Becket, A Man For All Seasons, Therese, Le Sorcier du Ciel St. Jean Vianney (English subtitles), The 13th Day (about Our Lady of Fatima, much edgier and more accurate than the pretty and fluffed-over The Miracle of Fatima), Things We Lost, Marcelino Pan Y Vino (subtitles), Silence, The Awakening of a Giant, St. Veronica Giuliani (lived late 16-early 1700s was obscure because a saint for these awful times & expected to be pronounced Doctor of the Church), The Reluctant Saint (St. Joseph of Cupertino, some humor), Paul Apostle of Christ, St. Giuseppe Moscati, St. Maria Goretti, The Case For Christ, etc., etc.

It is truly a dark valley of death we walk in when persons make movies of issues that don't give the TRUTH, the WHOLE TRUTH and not an edited depiction of it... These movies make Religion, faith, Catholicism look as twisted as those who are wolves in sheep clothing. GOD have mercy on us...for we know not what we do.

@@maysant2724 Out of all movies shown, Doubt and The Two Popes were the only movies not giving off a sense of propaganda against the Church. I'm also aware of the abuses happening in the Church, but the sins of the few aren't the sins of all. A lot of people often ask that Catholics don't condemn the sinful actions of the clergy, they're wrong, in fact ordinary Catholics are fed up with the countless reports of abuse we've been hearing every year and yes the clergy is an absolute piece of crap when dealing issues like those. The Church needs reform, but it seems like the current clergy is avoiding it, sad to say.

The best Catholic movie by far is the Passion of the Christ! This movie is straight from the Bible. It is from the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary (Agony in the Garden, Scourging of Jesus at the Piilar, Crowning with Thorns, Carrying of the Cross, Crucifixion in the Cross).

NOT TRUE! Especially the #1 here, it’s way off! First of all because this is more a fiction movie. Catholic movies should be as factual as possible. According to Catholic News Service: “Informed Catholic moviegoers will wince at a series of distortions, some of which are downright weird. The future Francis says, for instance, that there was no mention of angels in the church until the fifth century. That will certainly come as a surprise to anyone conversant with the New Testament. The dialogue also has Cardinal Bergoglio informing Pope Benedict that God changes, an obviously heretical statement.” I can honestly say that my top 5 are: “Pius XII - Under the Roman Sky”, “Karol- A Man who became Pope“, “Garabandal, Catarata imparable” (in Spanish), “Paul VI: The Pope in the tempest”, and “Clare and Francis”; which of these, the last one is my favorite and it’s not on KZbin.

I was looking for movies to watch on Lent days. As a girl grown up in convent from a very young age, I'm aware of all these things and that's what breaks me more. But I have seen priests who point out these things without fear to those sisters, priests, bishops and even pope. So I'm happy. I'll came back later to watch these movies once the Lent is over(in 4 days)

The Two Popes is actually a great film, it shed light on the corruption in the clergy and the process of selection during the conclave, it first handedly showed what the life of the Pope is and what he deals with in the Church. Hopkins is an agnostic but the message of the movie is clear. Would recommend the movie Doubt as well. As Catholics we should be aware of Church issues and how the clergy deals these. I'm a Devout Catholics but I want reforms in the Church. Pray for the Church and pray for the clergy that they may address issues with proper justice.
