Looking back at maps like Dead Before Dawn and I Hate Mountain had me gone through severe nostalgia. About 10 years ago due to my strict parents I could only play on weekends and every week I'd check for any new custom campaign releases while also replaying the maps I already finished to the point where they're burned to the back of my head. L4D and its custom campaign really gave me something to look forward to at that time and made my high school years something I'll miss forever.

For those wondering. The Werewolf Tank in the Bloody Moors Custom Campaign is most likely a reference to the 1981 Horror Comedy movie An American Werewolf in London which the beginning of that movie takes place in the UK moors.

I wish there was a map where the survivors are in a gas filled room and need one needs to solve a puzzle but can’t shoot otherwise the building explodes. So the other survivors have to use melees or shoot from outside to cover the guy solving the puzzle. That would be an interesting level

Journey to Splash Mountain was the first custom campaign I've ever played when I got into modding the game, and I'm honestly glad to see it on this list. The only complaint that I have about it specifically is that it would've been better suited for l4d2 survivors. The creator could've easily reused the dialogue from Dark Carnival. Imagine Ellis calling Disney Land Kiddie Land or something. It would've been perfect, but it is what it is. Aside from that, great video as usual!

I personally think the reason why Tank in that British Countryside map was replaced with a werewolf is a reference to the movie "American Werewolf In London" as the first act of that movie does take place in a setting just like the map

dark wood has got to be in the next video man. the amount of pop culture references on that map is astounding not to mention the amount of easter eggs. it has silent hill, resident evil, cabin in the woods, mario, heck even wolverine and pyramids of egypt. its the most diverse campaign that feels like each map is a solo campaign. though it may not be as cohesive as the aforementioned maps the effort and detail done on that map deserves a shoutout

Someone made a version that split the offending map into two maps, on top of other bug fixes and tweaks on gamemaps. Personally I would've used the melee breakable wall function that was used in Left In China instead of a propane tank that blows up the whole hallway and incaps you, but otherwise, it works perfectly, even with heavy mods.

Buried Deep is crazy good, but crazy hard and crazy long. Like me jokes aside, you are going to need friends to beat it, it gets difficult. Valve level quality though, definitely a challenge for those who want it!

me and my siblings have been subscribing to custom maps and two that stuck out to me were definitely Glubtastic and Let's Build:2012 Glubtastic - fucking insane, it's just batshit ridiculous and the memorization you have to go through and the rules and everything you have to play by would make anyone crazy, it's so unique and challenging, which makes it better to play with friends than alone :) overall, if you put aside the insanity chart, it'd be a solid 8/10 Let's Build:2012 - now this one is also super frustrating. even playing this with your friends in coop, the difficulty even at normal is insane. the setting is in some spaceship in outer space and you're in charge of opening up the weapons and utility you can use. i really recommend this because i think it's pretty cool to build a rocket ship! thank you so much for this video btw! i just subscribed to some of them to check them out myself :) i've played Back to School with my siblings already and i, for one, really enjoyed it. it's seriously insane how the team could get that creative with a map. looking forward to part 3 if there will be one!

i had a idea for a custom left 4 dead 2 custom campaign its called bloody sea it will take place in zeeland in the netherlands the survivors have crashed in zeeland and have to get to a helicopter evac on a cruise ship it will have like npcs like a museum guy who needs the survivors to collect 5 ww2 artifacts that have been stolen by bandits and the begining the survivors will be in an dutch house that is actually my grandmas house because she moved to zeeland and there will be custom voicelines and i have other idea that will take place in arnhem

I remember the time when I play the Resident Evil 3 campaign (I think 3-4 times), where you have to get the 2 gas cans to the train, which probably dislike in my opinion for few reasons (in my opinion). The first gas can was somewhat easy, which I think you have to do puzzles but that’s just me. The second gas can is the pain in the ass, where you have do a puzzle to unlocked (and it is suffering). After unlocking the second gas can, I remember the gas station was on fire and explode and I just die in it. Also one shot/melee attack on the gas & the gas can is on fire & won’t respawn (I think, but this is just my opinion on Resident Evil 3 Campaign for this map level).

I've played all of these and they're mostly good (especially BLOODY MOORS) but I'd replace BACK TO SCHOOL with one of the following: ABSOLUTE ZERO, WILD RIDE, SHADOW MOSES ISLAND, or ESCAPE FROM CASTLE YHY. I found BACK TO SCHOOL overly long and a little tedious, with very dull settings until the finale. The four I've suggested are challenging and they also provide great settings and finales. ABSOLUTE ZERO has the survivors following behind an Abrams tank in the finale. WILD RIDE has some super-elaborate settings. SHADOW MOSES ISLAND has a variety of fascinating settings with a heart-pounding gauntlet run in the finale. ESCAPE FROM CASTLE YHY is set in a huge, elaborate castle which is sure more fun than the drab schoolrooms and apartment buildings in BACK TO SCHOOL. Just my two cents' worth. LEFT 4 DEAD 2 is a fantastic game and I hope people keep creating new scenarios for it!

I’ve played Absolute Zero for a future video the other day, the level of quality is out of this world. It’s as if Valve said “screw it, let’s make another L4D2 campaign.” It’s amazing what the community was able to do with that campaign. Definitely one of the best L4D2 mods ever made! Modding has come a very long way. I’ll definitely check out the other’s you suggested!

what population mod did u use because I saw l4d1 common infected and l4d2 common infected infected sort of mixed but I would like to know the name pls

Warcelona is my first custom campaign and it really set the standard for me. The finale is one of if not the most epic finales in l4d2.

They still work fine for me, although I’ve been hearing people have issues with Dead Before Dawn.

Dark Carnival, will be my first favorite also, Dark Carnival remix right up there with it. I always play single player with bots. I have made it through every map so far. Even ones you discouraged bot use in. I would like to ask a favor? Could you find like the "Best" 10 single player maps? Many you review are co-op, and versus only. I have been playing online for over 23 years now. Okay I am over sixty and retired. Don't judge me, and Disturbed has been my favorite band since they started. I have never used mods. I also have never crashed in games either. The only time I had glitching and crash like symptoms was due to having to use dial up before DSL was available. I cannot play with groups in servers because of bad arthritis from over 35 years of being a heavy industrial mechanic and lead. I don't appreciate being called noob by people that weren't even alive when I started playing online. My first video game was a battery operated Pong you hooked to the TV. Anyways. I just thought maybe you could ask around. It is so time consuming trying to trudge through all the trash mods in workshop. I was a very good map maker twenty plus years ago in DF2. Thank you for posting such lively spirited videos. Keep it up.

@@sizzurpmp3 Thank you in advance. I added the ones you suggested last week. Arena of the Dead, and most others. I already have been playing "I Hate Mountains" for a couple of years now. I also have Death Woods, Frozen, Die Scraper Redux, Death Aboard 2, Devil Mountain, Death Woods, Death Sentence, Dead Getaway, Deadly Dispatch, Precinct 84, Chernobyl is so freaking huge. Love that SUICIDE BLITZ, Dark Wood 1-5., SMS Titanic I have 40 achievements as single/bot player. A couple that less that 6% of people have gotten. Been with Steam over 15 years. I appreciate any help you can give. I am not a noob and was actually awesome as "MeAgainGOH" in DF2, Joint Ops, and many other early squads from 1999-2006 or so. I played a lot. Then on Steam for L4D1 and L4D2, DOOM, and a few others. That first video game I had was about 1976 or so I think. Ones for home use that is. Pinball machines were still king at that time.
