The rings go on the inside of the tabs of the center caps and not outside them as you showed them being installed!

FYI, Core wheels and non-Core wheels are slightly different. Best to make sure center caps you get work specifically with Core wheels. Also, the metal ring behind the center caps goes inside the ‘fingers,’ not outside.
