When I started- the beginning of last Summer- I distinctly recall people telling me that one of the great things about this game is that it's free! Here's me less than a year later with an overdue electric bill and a bunch of flat packages in the mailbox!

@@Arrica101 it's pretentious to hate the feel of the DD burst plastic when it has been extremely difficult to find their classic blend wardens? I don't care for the stiffness and slippery texture. It's why I had to stop throwing and putting Wardens once classics got hard to find. Bought a ton of soft roaches when they became available, basically the same disc.

I grabbed a hailey king halo mako 3 and it was pretty costly ($28) on eBay. Compared to my long go to which is star, it is a bit heavier and is a little more stable, but man it is GLIDEY. I throw my old one 169g about 300ft and this new one was going 10-20ft further despite being heavier. They are both really flat, but the halo is a little stiffer.

The Harp is a great disc but not in Origio plastic necessary but BT Hard/Medium/Soft. I think they're in the same price range BUT at least I definately prefer the feeling over the dx like Origio. Especially for forehanding I like the softer ones since it is easier to get a really solid grip.

DX wraith is definitely more understable from the other plastics. Especially right after a tree hit. Slower arm speeds can benefit from throwing a DX Wraith and feel like they are not a wimp with that 11 rating. Defintely don't confuse a DX Wraith with other plastics as it is a different beast altogether.

See I was gonna come here and say KC Pro Roc. Just a step above the DX. Dx Rocs are great too. KC Pro F2 runs around $10. I think the slower speed and rim shape make the plastic more durable. Shape it well and it glides nice. Any driver in DX gets major gouges as soon as you hit something fast. That being said, DX Wraith was one of my first distance drivers and it put up with a lot!

I don't understand the love for Wraiths, or just for Overstable discs in general. For me that high Fade results in like 20+ ft less distance than I get out of a Stable or Understable disc. For certain shots obviously it's great to have that much Fade but if I have a wide open shot I'm never grabbing an Overstable disc. I may like a beat in Wraith but I don't throw it enough to get it beat in.
@TheScottishKayaker
@TheScottishKayaker 2 жыл бұрын
As far as distance drivers go the wraith is fairly middle road for stability. What is your normal distance? If your arm speed is lower it will make drivers appear to be much more stable than the numbers would imply.
@Motorboatasaurus
@Motorboatasaurus 2 жыл бұрын
@@TheScottishKayaker I throw 270 on average but occasionally can hit 300 but that's only with discs that are 1 or 2 fade. I throw overstable discs like 250 tops
@BradyR95
@BradyR95 2 жыл бұрын
It's definitely an arm speed thing. If you have a slower arm speed it makes perfect sense why you would like understable disc. Nothing wrong with that, but that is your answer. I throw a lot of understable disc for shot shaping in the woods, but for distance, over stable is the way to go because it can handle more torque without flipping over.

For my money you cant beat walking into a play it again sports and walking out with some old champion midrange like a shark or a manta that some fool traded in. 10 bucks for a perfectly seasoned stableish midrange in a plastic that doesnt degrade quickly Champion plastic can do interesting things to a disc and ive never been disappointed

The real answer here that everyone sleeps on in Millenium anything. In particular the OLF… it’s a wraith top/firebird bottom (literally) that flys like a CD2… innova made, it’s $14 for Sirius (star)!plastic. Flight numbers 9,5,-1,2, and it’s got an incredibly familiar feeling rim considering it uses elements from2 of the most popular molds in everyone’s bags!
