Bang Energy Drink Zero Sugar? Yay or Nay? Extra tips to nail the tryout and make the team?
@clayraterman3 жыл бұрын
Nay, I never did any energy drinks personally lol but if it works for you then maybe! And here's tips: clayraterman.com/resources-tools/cfb-walk-on-tryout-guide

Got any tips for me? I weigh a lot and have never played football but want to try out for my middle school football team next year. I also have low endurance.
@clayraterman2 жыл бұрын
DO IT - just get started. Start working on the areas you're not good at and get on the team. That's the only way you'll know if you like the sport. Try as many things as you can while you're young my friend

Thanks a lot! I’ve gone over it and think I will try out for left tackle.

I’m going to do tryouts first day of school back, there’s no football practices around me so I’m limited to working out and playing catch with friends do coaches look for how good you catch or do they make you work on other things?

Is the 40 yard dash and cone drill equally as important if I’m a kicker?
@clayraterman9 ай бұрын
no, mainly just kicking...although they prob will still test you and it certainly doesn't hurt to do great

all the same combine drills and then youtube or google position specific individual drills for that spot or maybe message one of the guys on the team who is a walk on and ask what their individual drills at the start of practice are

Can you guys make a video on how to prepare for a high school football tryout like 5 months before the tryout?
@clayraterman4 жыл бұрын
I didn't know they had tryouts in HS, I thought they had to accept everyone?
@j2wxld4 жыл бұрын
@@clayraterman I assumed every HS football team had try outs, but maybe they don't.🤷🏽♂️ I ask because I just want to know how to train and condition myself to be a football player so that I can be on a HS team, maintain my spot, get better, and go to the next level. My summer's about to start in a week, and HS football season usually starts after summer. This summer break can be an opportunity for me to physically become the player I need to be. Do you have any advice on how to do that or can you make a video about that if you haven't already?
@clayraterman4 жыл бұрын
@@j2wxld You gotta just go to the coach and ask to join the team my man, usually you train with the football team all summer!

Aye man. I’m currently in the process of transferring to South Carolina and I know I can make the team. They told me that they change their try out schedules every year and sometimes don’t hold them at all. Is there any way that I can make a statement and prove that I can make an impact?
@clayraterman5 жыл бұрын
From Nick and I's perspective we both saw that everyone who reached out to the "walk on coordinator" stating how good they were etc. seemed to get shit on at the tryout, but if they have NO tryouts at all, maybe asking if you can show film or do a solo tryout in some way could work. It's all trial and error at the end of the day

Hey bro I really hope you still reply to comments even after a year of posting but I’m currently 14 6,3 and weigh about 262 I’m over weight obviously but don’t slack off I don’t have much of a belly either it’s just like my mass but I don’t have muscles either but I really want to get into football my freshman year and I have all summer to get in shape what should I focus on tips appreciated
@clayraterman3 жыл бұрын
One thing to remember is you got TIME. But if you want to be a good football player, you need to be in shape. Start working out and eating better. Take care of your body and what you put into it. Get in shape by running, learning how to lift weights properly, and doing some bodyweight exercises at that age. Don't make excuses about your weight or body because if you do you're putting it outside of your control and you can't change it. Own it, understand you're responsible for getting that heavy,. and go make the changes needed or get good at a position that requires that kind of size. But above all try and make sure you're healthy both mentally and physically. Sign up for the team, work hard this summer, make goals for yourself, and go make it happen!

Depends on your goal and weight and stuff I suppose! I knew guys that ate like shit that still performed great lol so idk. In general for life and longevity though yeah you should haha
