I love the look, but hate the ship - there was a video years back of someone using it with pulse phasers that looked really awesome. It also would probably look great using the blue TOS-style advanced phasers

Good recommendations. I think that since Plot Armor can get subnuked, the effectiveness of the Plot Armor trait without other items is likely to be fairly minimal. Especially with the current Hydra builds. Another okay option might be the Miradorn Theta Heavy Raider. It isn't amazing by any means, and I would definitely say the Deimos beats it in every way besides maneuverability. But it is an option.

Yes absolutely agreed on all counts. I really wanted to recommend the Mars class and Cheirax for the same reason (like Miradorn) but since the Deimos has a good console too, it gets the edge for me. I don’t think the consoles/traits of the other pilot+Intel ships are particularly great. Worth saying that PLOTA has always been effective even with subnukes, but I'd never recommend PLOTA for a dogfighter. Only healers, sci builds, etc.

I use a combo to keep me alive, plot armor, invincible and lost in time from the 11th bundle. Throw in honored dead and your pretty hard to kill and still have a spot for a weapon power or crit boost. I use Temporal surge for the 700% speed and turn rate and 100%crit chance.

Sub nuc wont work on lost in time however theres a good chance you are activating both zahl and LIT at the same time. Secondly with that much survivability on your not doing enough dmg to kill anyone.

@@DivisionMuEpsilon This is might be a console player, so they might not be as aware of what subnuke strips, and also their enemies have no idea when to time the subnuke right since they don't have buff bars. It's also why some of those myths get perpetuated, this is an expensive list (roughly $500 worth) of traits and also would not perform well, at least on PC, so it scares off players new to pvp who think they need to spend hundreds of dollars to be competitive (and then still end up exploding).

It's OK, but as a first generation T6 ship (now nearly 10 years old) and it's a bit outdated. Lack of a full spec or dual spec is going to limit you a lot, and the main problem with it is that it has way too much tactical seating - you don't need a commander and LT tac for pvp, too much dedicated to damage when you need survivability. The Matha has an LT intel station - that’s it as far as specialization seating - as in, abilities that aren’t tactical/science/engineering. More recent T6 ships have a full command seat of some specialization type, and most of them have two specializations (ex, Hydra has full intel spec plus a LTC pilot seat, therefore can use 7 special abilities plus the usual tac/sci/eng stuff). Just to save you frustration, if all you have is the Matha, you’re not ready for PvP yet unless you’re just messing around with fleet mates. You’re going to need to do some grinding and learn a bit more about ship building before you can be competitive. To make the Matha competitive, you’ll need multiple other ships for their traits anyway and those ships are better than the Matha anyway, so it’d be more effective to just fly one of those instead unless you just really love the Matha and are willing to lose fights to look cool.

Rhythmic Rumble, Temporal Surge, Invincible, Superweapon Ingenuity, then pick any two from superior area denial, superior pedal to the metal, preferential targeting, energy overdrive, etc 5-6 colony consoles, all beam weapons with beam overload 3 and CSV1. AP Omega. I guess the spare LT tac station could have kemocite and focused assault on it. But by that point, you’d be better off just using the ship that comes with Temporal Surge (the Bozeman), which could work as a surgical strikes or an overload PvP build. If you check some of the other build videos for escorts, like the Leg Defiant or Leg JHAS, you’re basically just copying that same type of build over and then working around the limitations of the Matha
