I had 2 hip operations ,and a knee operation , seeing the "bad results " , I read a lot about RA (like you ) ,and because different doctors and professors were not believing me (it was in my head!!!...) I decided by myself to change my diet , even if I always had a natural alimentation , I was ,as you were doing , enjoying sometimes a good wine normal meal .with friends..definitely ,I stopped wheat ,, i eat also dried fruits mostly dates, ..I am happy that things change ,and doctors like you,and your personnal experience ,will change the mentalities ,. I am 67, from Glasgow, Scotland. I struggled for a long long time with ulcerative colitis. The initial diagnosis was in 1997, followed by many flare ups to the extent that my private medical consultant told me to have my colon removed back in 2005. I refused and he said that if I wasn’t going to follow his recommendations, then no point for me to continue seeing him, we parted there and then. I tried lots of dietary experiments and I had some success in 2005 after trying a food combining diet, however I still got an occasional flare up. For around 2 years now and after watching many KZbin videos on healthy eating, my go to foods are a limited number of fruits, varied daily, non starchy vegetables 🥦 with very occasional potatoes 🥔 in small numbers, I am a meat eater, eating most standard meats but mostly chicken, 3 eggs most days, I love kidney beans 🫘 and chickpeas which I take after soaking and cooking from dried, once cooked I add a little EVOL, black pepper and some apple cider vinegar, this is my snack food, a variety of mushrooms 🍄, onions and garlic are my staples and are added to most meals. I take full fat milk, in my tea and coffee and a glass 🥛 now and then. I do not buy processed foods, i don’t take sugar and I DO intermittent fast for around 10 days per month, usually 20/4 on fasting days. No doubt i have missed some things out but for the past 20 months, I have never felt so continuously good in a long time. I finally believe that i will no longer require to go back on prednisone steroids ever again for UC as long as i don’t stay from the path 😅

Great video! I am a physician(DO, EM) and developed autoimmune later in life. Some things, I would have assumed to be age-related. I began to see patterns. The areas and patterns of inflammation have expanded. I am relieved to be able to manage a great deal. I avoid anything that I notice to be a trigger. Kinds of emotional or behaviors that contribute are harder to track, and I’m working on it. I follow keto, not rigidly. I avoid processed food, alcohol, dairy, gluten. Several artificial sweeteners are triggers, although allulose seems to be okay. I eat fish(salmon mostly) Glad and reassured about legumes. They seem okay. I have lowered my protein. The scary part right now is Neuro inflammation. I am working to see the patterns there, which appear to be related to emotion processing.

Very difficult to follow paleo if other family members doesn't support it. I started slowly intermittent fasting introducing paleo diet, I have to reduce weight. I had chronic pain, psoriatic arthritis in many places including in my spine. My C reactive protein marker was off the charts high: 122. I went plant based and in three months it dropped to 12, still very high but nowhere near what it was. And a year later it dropped down to 3. I eat whole grains, not gluten as I am gluten sensitive, and I have cut down on refined gluten free flour now too. I make nearly everything from scratch, worked on improving my gut microbiome, I eat a lot of fermented foods and make my own soy yoghurt, I ferment 3 different types of whole grains and legumes to make flatbreads. Fixing the gut microbiome is the next stage that I have been working on and it is going well. Very pleased to have found your channel ❤.

Plus grass of course.

I am 60, have Osteo-arthritis in my lower spine and chronic inflammation. I am just at the beginning of my journey. Doctors and specialists are considering whether I have rheumatoid arthritis… meanwhile I met a friend at the gym who told me about her rheumatoid arthritis and pointed me in the direction of Susan Blum’s book called Healing Arthritis. I have tried to stick with her anti-inflammatory diet as much as possible and now have no doubt there is some inflammation/diet connection. I am so stiff today I can barely move, which I assume is to do with gluten in the flat bread I have eaten over the last three days…. Waiting to see a specialist and a naturopath as I would prefer to go down the diet route rather than medication. Blum’s diet excludes all the bad stuff you mentioned but also eliminates soy products and nightshades completely. It is very difficult to eat out at all without breaking the diet in some way but my husband and I travel often and eat out. Eating out is a necessity for us so I am trying to navigate this dietary situation. What I would like to see is more about how to eat without all these things in your diet. If you go online, there’s plenty of recipes for gluten-free and dairy-free but nothing on eliminating so many different types of food. It’s also difficult when cooking, for example, many soups and stews contain tomatoes of tomato paste. I find cooking without tomatoes and and most of the foods I love very challenging. Healthy recipes and videos on how to eat within theses dietary guidelines would be extremely helpful.

Within a month, I had excruciating pain in every bone of my toes/feet/ankle and knees, literally being crippled. I also had pain and numbing of sensation in my fingers, wrists and elbows. They took X-rays of all joints as well as a blood test. Then I met the resident rheumatologist. He confirmed I had "good" arthritis, meaning osteo instead of rheumatoid arthritis in every joint. I asked what could I do to stop or lessen the pain that was keeping me awake at night and in agony every day. He said "nothing".... that it was 'normal wear and tear' of the joints. But, he could prescribe pain medications to help me. I spoke with my D.O. and she said I had signs of inflammation throughout my body. She suggested I try a plant based diet, giving up meats, processed foods, dairy, eggs, cheese, etc. I wondered what was left to eat??? Cardboard??? But, I tried it for 30 days. And ALL my symptoms and pain disappeared! She was right. And the Rheumatologist was a pill pushing fool who should go back to med school, FAST. (A year later, the cataract in my left eye, scheduled for replacement, cleared!!!) I hope what I learned might help some others reading this. (3+ years now!)

Hi doctor! My son has psoriasis and i think he has psoriatic arthritis already. He is 21. The signs are showing like the nails, the mild deformity of the fingers, the flakes on some parts of the skin. Is there anything that him and me can do aside from the foods and diet like a holistic approach to prevent further deformity and future organ damage. Im scared for sky rizi or other medications/chemicals that a doctor will prescribe. He's taking turmeric ginger and ACV supplements. what would you advice? Thanks.

When it comes to grains if you can get non GMO they might be ok, but the regular stuff you buy is what causes problems. I don't digest legumes well, so they are out for me,

PS: If you do not know how, leave a message and I will show you a video that explains the very simple process. It is a 3 minor steps process that takes maybe at a maximum 1 minute.

I think removing the skin and the seeds of the tomatoes is helpful. You can roast or lightly boil the tomatoes in order to remove the skin.
