Thank you for your videos. I have a 12 year old son who is a goalkeeper at his middle school. We have gone through some formal training with a futbol club, but it isn't possible any longer as it's at the same time as his middle school practices. Your videos have helped to get him to a higher, more confident level. I'm trying to keep him ahead of the curve when it comes to his teammates. He entered his 1st year as keeper and won the starting job after one practice. We will be ordering goalkeeper pants and socks from your website. Thanks again.

This video may seem like a typical Modern Goalkeeping video, but the difference is that this guy makes mistakes and you can see that, and Modern Goalkeeping… Yeah, pure show-offs and 0 mistakes. GK Goluremi ur the best 🤩🤩🤩❤️

Just have a bench, do three push-ups, a somersault over it, and then scream as you make a slowmo save in the top corner👍

Why do you drop straight back to the line on the first drill? Surely to replicate a game scenario you want to create some angle reducing space off your goal line. For example a couple of yards.
@GKGOLUREMI4 жыл бұрын
Good question! So that drill is replicating cutback balls, crosses which normally result in volleys and headers. In those situations it's actually better to stay on your line to give you more time to react to the ball. If you step out a few yards it's not gonna matter if you cut down the angle if you don't have time to actually react to the ball. It's also very difficult to try and take ground on these quick bang-bang plays and still have your feet set for the shot. Start paying attention to top level keepers on these plays and you'll see the vast majority of the time they drop back to their line.
@christophergilsenan99604 жыл бұрын
@@GKGOLUREMI Thank you I appreciate the explanation, makes sense to do so if your reaction time is reduced! I have always wondered how much you should devote to practicing moving backwards in training - as in a lob scenario tracking back or as you said in cut-back situation because it goes against the good practice of attacking the ball forwards. What footwork drills would you reccomend which are scenario specific and do not negatively impact on your technique?
@GKGOLUREMI4 жыл бұрын
@@christophergilsenan9960 Taking crosses where there's a striker in the box to finish the ball would be a good one. Cause normally before a cross is hit you are a few yards off your line to help extend your range for collecting the cross. But if it's hit too far away from you then you'd want to drop back to you line and get set for the header/volley. So that would be a very realistic setup for you to start practicing that movement of dropping back but then quickly getting set and your body weight forward.

Can you advice me how to improve my catching.I face problems while holding the ball it usually slips from my hands. I have wide hands so what glove would you recommend me to buy, I use a negative cut right now and I am not at all comfortable with it previously I used a flat cut but I was'nt even comfortable with it. Thank you for your help.
@GKGOLUREMI4 жыл бұрын
First make sure you are using proper form. I have a video going over proper catching form. Then I'd say to make sure your hands/arms are relaxed while attempting the catch the ball. You want them to almost feel like they are being held up by strings. If your hands/arms are stiff it makes it very difficult to catch. Also maybe try roll fingered gloves. That's my preferred cut and the type of cut that gives me my best hands. I like the extra padding/latex on the palms which absorbs more contact from the ball. Which I've found allows me to relax my hands more than negative/traditional cut gloves.

what also really helped for me was looking at the ball after i catched it, to make sure it stayed in my hands. so get your eyes on the ball constantly 😁 good luck!

Don't worry about not being able to reach everything. Just continue focusing on your technique and positioning in goal and everything will become easier as you grow a bit more.
