I make meds by putting whole garlic in a jar (peeled and semi-crushed) with thin sliced ginger and a few shakes of cayanne pepper then covered with honey and capped in a cool dark spot for a month. I have known about Elder berries since I was 3 or 4 years old. I have also eaten more elder berries than I can remember.
