I have an 02 suburban and i love that thing its on a 2” level lift and i put the wheels that are on a 2015 tahoe/ suburban on it to update the look i also removed the running boards i love it now. It currently has 360k miles on it and going strong

I just bought me a 1999 Chevy Tahoe LT fully loaded with 120k for 2 grand. I love it I do want to up grade the stereo though I would like to keep my original but it’s burnt out but seeing how yours looks maybe I’ll get a double din as well. Also idk why but I’ve always liked the gauges used from 95-99 for the obs bodies I would only change the lighting to make it look more elegant.

My top 5 interior mods to my 2K Silverado are, white faces for instrument cluster, blue LEDs for same and remainder of the interior, sound deadening everywhere, B&M Megashifter in center console (required replacing original center console with an 03+ center console to retain 2 cup holders, gotta have my cup holders) and finally a truly kick a$$ sound system with two 10" subs, two 6.5" mids in each front door, one 6.5" mid in each kick panel and rear door, a 3.5" mid in each a pillar, two tweeters in each front door and one tweeter in each rear door. No head unit, instead I'm running a Windows 10 Pro PC with 4 TBs of SSDs and a slot loading DVD drive in dash. Nothing makes and older vehicle a joy to drive like an awesome stereo.

Is that a laptop you're using instead of a head unit? I'm a little confused but super interested, sounds like a really good idea I just cant picture it.

@@rmcpeek I replied yesterday but now it's gone. I'm using a mini ITX PC. mini-box dot you know what sells power supplies that turns the computer on and off with the ignition. Solid State Drives means music or video playback never skips no matter how rough the ride. With that in mind I only use DVI because each end is securely screwed to it's terminal.

Hi Tahoe steve,great video,i have a 98 chevy silverado im having this problem of my truck constantly pulling to the right. I keep getting wheel alignments and the wheel alignment comes off. Because the truck pulls to the right. I got new tires last week and the wheel alignment was good for a day and it's back to pulling to the right. My steering wheel is off centered also. What do you think could be the problem? Im outta thoughts.

2003 is when they switched to double din, also they changed the gauge cluster then as well. Good upgrades though, I like those stainless steel from US Speedo gauges.

So I've done I've done some of the same mods that you've done my only issue I have on my 2011 Chevy Suburban is when I upgraded the radio I now have this humming noise that comes from my speakers. I've upgraded my whole system with two 12 inch subs & 3 amps & an upgraded the speakers all around but it doesn't matter how I rewire or try to fix the humming doesn't go away I'm almost wondering if I need an additional part since I changed from the stock bow system but I'm not sure ... any suggestions?

Try connecting a source of audio. Like if you connect your phone does the sound go away

Several years later and I am just seeing/commenting on this video. I see you answered someone's question one week ago so I know you are still monitoring it. With that said, #1, good video, #2 I hope you already replaced that alternator that was faulty when you recorded this video, that is why your speedometer and lights were pulsating. I wasn't in the market for a 6th vehicle but found an 02 Hoe so cheap last week I had to purchase it. Now I'm looking at doing all the mods you discussed and more. In the interest of saving a little time, that rear subwoofer and the door speakers, do you have the size and dimensions of them so I order online without having to remove them to get the proper sizes? Also, I ordered leather replacement seat covers front both frontal seats. though I have not installed them yet, they look amazing. Have you had to do any seat cover replacements yet? It's been so many years since i put the speakers in , I don't remember. Speakers are very subjective. Best thing to do is go to a local car stereo place and listen to them

In 99 when this model came out the interior was far better looking than any other trucks. IDK why your saying it was dated on release.

Chevy beats the rest of the American made trucks in every category: horsepower, torque, exterior styling, and just about everything. Interiors is where Chevy lacks. But that's because GM has Yukons and Escalades. I stand by my opinion that they were dated from day 1. If you wanted a nice interior you have to opt for one of the more expensive models.

I have a 03 Silverado I added the long style roof console, swapped out the cheap cloth seats with leather and added fog lights which my truck did not come with one and I felt like that made the truck new again

People today are using suede head liners, Porsche even uses it in a couple of their upgraded models. It's also a custom upgrade that custom car companies are doing.
