I've been debating whether I should always sync my Tentacle timecode boxes from my MixPre 10 ii or use the app and sync the timecode boxes, and then use one of them to feed timecode continuously back into the recorder. I have 3 cameras and 3 timecode boxes, but rarely am I using all 3 cameras at once. You made me think about not having to collect all the timecode boxes off the cameras to resync if a problem happened in the middle of the day. Up until now, the workflow has been to use the MixPre as the master clock and sync the timecode boxes at the start of the day. The recorder is powered off my power distribution box on an un-switched port so the recorder can run all day and keep timecode running (bridge sled batteries for Hi-Q battery changes if needed) and power cycle off everything else in the bag when not needed to save battery.

I have heard a few stories about the Mixpre internal TC generator being a bit of a weak point in the design of the recorder. Many mixers I know are using an external timecode generator with the mixpre series for this reason. ymmv but I think it could be a good idea!

hi, do you know an app for the ipad that works like Adobe Audition or that offers wav editing options like reaper? I've been looking for a long time for a solution for my recordings, e.g. several sounds in a row, which offers the possibility to identify "silence" and then use these markers to extract individual wavs. If necessary, I would also do this manually. If there were such a thing, my desk would no longer be necessary and I could do the editing over a coffee in the woods. I hope you understand what I mean. Regards

Hey there! The first thing that comes to mind is Logic Pro. It is basically a fully fledged DAW. I don’t know if it has a “strip silence” tool but it’s definitely capable for quick editing of wav files. Hope this helps!
