I tried the Skin Aqua b/c it was suggested on another of your videos. I love, love, love that stuff. I wondered what the smell was, but it's only there initially, and it's not horrible - just different. The smell does not linger. By the time it dried down, it's gone - which doesn't take long. I have super sensitive eyes and it didn't burn me. I even put it on before going out to mow the lawn, came back - my face was beet red - thought it didn't work, but after I took a shower, turns out the redness was just from being overheated - you couldn't even tell I had been in the sun for an hour. It was wonderful. It's silky soft and drys down (but is not "drying"). It feels more like a great moisturizer than a sticky sunscreen. Initially I didn't think it was going to work b/c it wasn't like other (nasty) sunscreens - boy was I wrong. I have also used it under makeup and I had no problems. Highly recommended.*Edit: I was able to find this on Amazon (USA).

I love Japanese sunscreens. I tried over 20 kinds of Japanese sunscreens and Allie is my favorite. Many sunscreens tests show that Allie is good at UVA protection. Many Japanese sunscreens exaggerate the SPF and PA. Most of the common Japanese sunscreens are over SPF50 and PA++++, some of which have apparently different sunblock effects.

Hi Dr Dray! I bought the Kiss Me Mommy sunscreen when I saw you talk about it in a video a few months ago. I brought it with me to Colombia in August for three weeks, and used a Banana Boat spf 50 for my body. You're so right, Japanese sunscreens are SUPERIOR; my legs were peeling (even though I reapplied sunscreen every 2 hours while we were out) while my face was fine. Holy grail, and the sunscreen does work well underneath makeup! Thank you for your helpful tips :)

Reneé the Mommy one I just reapply with my fingers. It glides on over makeup very easily. does not disturb my foundation whatsoever. Many other sunscreens I tried would make a mess, so I would need to go over with a sponge afterwards. Didn’t like the idea to carry my sponge with me everywhere, but it helped a lot. Anessa looks very good on the skin after application. It is like some invisible primer. However it is a bitch to wash off, which makes it very water/sweat resistant but also leaves a very uncomfortable feeling on the hands all day after application unless you wash it off with makeup remover etc. Also, it tends to be quite dry so I use it on top of the very emollient Altruist, especially on the T-zone and places where you do not want too much shine, and treat it as an extra layer of sun protection.

@@katxfish yes I do, I use serums, moisturizers, let them sit while I brush my teeth. And start with sunscreen, make Coffee, use second suncreen. Brush hair start makeup. So far no problems with them under makeup!

Great timing! I was just looking for Japanese sunscreens to buy, i liked the biore UV watery essence, but sadly it has fragrance so i was looking for a replacement. Will definitely try out the skin aqua, thanks for the tip!

I just ordered Biore Kids UV milk from yesstyle. Thank you ever so much for the video. I wonder why Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel UV SPF50+ PA++++ is not one of your top sunscreens.

Hi dr Dray. Thank you for the recommendations. The texture of Japanese sunscreens cannot be beaten. However, unfortunately they don't disclose PPD rating. 4 stars means 16 plus but that could mean 17 or 40. European sunscreens while not so elegant often display their PPD rating. I wish Japanese ones did the same.

Lol dont mind about it. In Asian culture womens love white skin they very scared of aging wrinkles... So most of asian sunscreen have highest anti uvA

My favourite Japanese sunscreens are from Anessa. Super water resistant that your sweat doesn't turn white when you are sweating heavily.

Dear dr. Dray hi from Greece! Because of the strong sun here, there are many anti dark spots sunscreens sold in Greece. For example there is a French brand called Ducray which is popular for their antispot sunscreen Ducray-Melascreen-UV-Light-Cream-Dry-Touch-Brown-Spots-Normal-to-Combination-Skin-SPF50 But many brands have anti dark spots sunscreens. As far I have seen you haven’t mentioned any anti dark spot sunscreen and I am just curious if they really work. What is your opinion about these and their ingredients? Thank you very much for all the valuable information you are giving us!

I bought the Skin Aqua UV Gel omg... I love it. It's truly everything I needed. I use on top of the La Roche Posay Double repair moisturizer. No cast, doesn't feel drying at all probably because of la roche underneath and it's not irritating whatsoever. My search for a good daily sunscreen might be over. Finally.

Very informative video as always! I love the Purito Comfy Water Sunblock SPF 50 PA++++ is an all mineral (mostly zinc) sunscreen that is very lightweight and has the less cast than any mineral sunscreen I’ve tried in the us. Fragrance free of course on yes style

korean mineral sunscreen I use: ETUDE HOUSE Sunprise Mild Airy Finish Sun Milk It has the finely milled minerals that doesn't leave a visible white cast and dries down to a "airy" comfortable finish. I find it competes with much more expensive sunscreens on the US market but is much cheaper which is better for everyday use. It has a light scent which I am very scent sensitive and it doesn't trigger any migraines or irritate my rosacea. The scent could still be too much for somebody more sensitive than myself.

I’ve been using Skin Aqua on my body because I HATE feeling like I have sunscreen on. I love the Skin Aqua - it almost feels like I have nothing on!! However, it seems expensive to be using on my body. Do you have body sunscreen recommendations that don’t leave you feeling oily or sticky?
@sjxt15562 жыл бұрын
Holy grail sunscreen is Biore aqua rich watery essence, it has alcohol but its really moisturising (gives me that glass skin) and it’s somehow the only sunscreen that doesn’t sting my eyes. I’d love to find more options for my poor eyes.
