How is it even possible to not only play all these solos perfect in one take, let alone arguably better than the original on some? Truly amazing stuff, definitely one of the greatest guitar players I’ve ever seen. This is exactly what Petrucci was talking about when he said some of his fans are better than him.

@@will202X i dont think it's that important. if you have 2 people, 1 with no talent and 1 with talent, if they both practice an equal amount of hours for 10 years, you likely won't be able to distinguish one guy from the other in terms of skill. The longer it goes, the less you will be able to detect it. now if the guy without talent has more drive and excitement, he will even surpass the guy with talent in terms of skill easily. IF the more talented guy also has a crazy drive and engagement, he will have the edge but there is a (reasonable) limit to your mechanical possibilities so that's why I think you won't really hear any difference. If you practiced techniques for a long time, it will not sound very different to another guy that has practiced for that long as well.

How did you set up the tremolo to be able to make those flicks like at 00:47? I have the same guitar but I cant figure out to set it up that way :( I thought that maybe I need to have a Floyd Rose to do that but you can do it with the standard PRS tremolo
@AlainIbrahimlb

Hey man, you don't need a Floyd rose Bridge to do those flicks. You need a floating bridge, which FR usually have. You need to higher your bridge a bit, enough to have leeway for a reverse dive, if that makes sense. Hope I helped!

Make sure the arm is tight. Another thing to consider is that the more springs you have the less it will wobble. So less springs that are tightened a bit more. That should do the trick. Note that less springs also means that you cannot use that thick strings.

@WiWaMusicOfficial 4 жыл бұрын
@@anttiohtonen2122 Ah ok thank you. How many strings would you recommend? Right now I'm using 4. and does this help with divebombs as well? Cause those dont work as good for me as well. The tremolo doesn't go as deep down as I want it to :/

Absolutely destroyed that Under a Glass Moon Solo! My personal favorite of his and one of the hardest to keep up with given the changes and inflection. Very impressive man, keep ripping! EDIT: YOU DID THESE ALL BACK TO BACK?!?!?!?! WHAT!?!?!?!?! (O~o)

I'm almost welling up, your playing is amazingly expressive. I hope you're making a decent living with music or there's something fundamentally wrong with society.

Amazing! But John Petrucci solos with his signature model hanging on the wall? I love how you didn't go for the cliche of many who play Petrucci's solo with his signature model of some sort. Sterling or Musicman. Not that I'm against that, but it's refreshing to see a solo on a different guitar sometimes lol. Keep playing!

The "Hollow Years" Live At Budokan solo is one of the most beautiful guitar solos of all time! It's what I always point to when people say Petrucci "shreds without feeling." Also....well play my man!

What I love about Alain’s covers is that he makes them his own by adding dynamics and really tasteful embellishments - so it’s not a stale reproduction - but his own voice coming through 🙏

I haven't even listened to the whole video yet, but I LOVE what you did with his solo from the Budokan - took an already powerful solo and amped it up. And, damnit, if The Best of Times solo doesn't already get me every time...you NAILED it and put an awesome flare on it. Keep it up!
