The MoraKniv brand is my go-to recommendation when someone new to knives asks me what fixed blade they should get. They have a great range, their quality for the price is unbeatable and most importantly they work. I purchased all of my children a Mora 511 Basic for their first fixed blade knife. Not only good to teach them safe knife use but also how to sharpen - and at only $15-20 if lost or damaged then they are cheap to replace.

My list: TRC Mille Cuori, LT Wright Forest trail, Mora Bushcraft Black, M07 Ranger Puukko, Bark River Bravo 1 LT.
@greencanopybushcraftsurviv67132 ай бұрын
Have to agree with you guys on the jaakaripuukko being no.1. Have used and abused mine for the last year and its never let me down and is easy to sharpen in the field. Never had any rolls or chips. A true work horse. Still, Bravo 1 and BK2 are awesome and just as indestructible but cost more, quality being also better in my opinion and look better. Love both, but even with micarta scales, the BK2 is a bit of an overkill. Hultafors HD is also great but really basic, however, for the price, unbeatable. The B.O.B i find to cumbersome and a bit uncomfortable. A tank of a knife, like the BK2, but without the finesse of the Bravo 1. I would say it all depends on your budget.😊 Great picks though. Though you did miss out a Reiff Knife.😊 and a Bravo 1 LT.😊
Those are some great choices. My indestructible knife is the British MOD survival knife.1/4" thick, 7" long, Scandi grind, built like a tank, literally. The bk2 is not indestructible because there is a KZbin video showing how to repair it after it broke inside the handle.
@insanogeddon2 ай бұрын
Hultafors HD x5 is ideal use them for everything from trade/garage, kitchen, to outdoors. Throw at will. Once it is an extension of self your safety and useability goes up. To do that at other price points is a drama.

I am still rocking the Terävä Jääkäripuukko after I had seen Martin stand on it and shoot it I figured it would be hard for me to f it up.
@greekveteran27152 ай бұрын
Mora Bushcraft Black easily beats it in my experience. I gave away my Jääkäripuukko but I own 16 Morakniv. Bushcraft Black showed way better edge stability.better blade shape,better edge bevel, WAY better grinds and finish, better handle ergos. The only thing I liked on the Jääkäripuukko 110 more, was the sheath.
@a.i.a39492 ай бұрын
@@greekveteran2715To each and their own i guess, i find mora steel a bit soft and the edge never feels slicey for long so the finish doesnt matter to me because it just blunts (they usually only last me a year of use because resharpening eventually brings the edge back into the soft unhardened core and while the jaakaripukko is also quite soft it felt alot weightier like a different stlye of knife but was also super slicey feeling but also choppy. I also preferred the handle material, although i did modify it to get rid of most of the gaurd and pomel, so it was more like a lekku. Bushcraft black is still quite good though.. but the morakniv classic series is better for what moras are meant for and where they really shine for things like carving.

There’s that many almost indestructible knives on the market that you could potentially put ten knives in each spot on your list and still not be wrong. Top 5/10 lists are fun but a waste of time, it all depends on the people/person making the list.

Joe X did a test on both budget knives and the Mora Robust handle did crack and the Hultafors GK handle did not. Functionality as in 'are still good' depends on the tasks at hand, the environment, skill level and of course your budget also plays a role. For me this topic is more about back up knives. The one you just throw in your backpack in case your fancy expensive knife does get lost or breaks. For me that #1 knife is the Hultafors GK. It would even be better if they made the same version in AUS8 stainless also.

@realbroggo2 ай бұрын
I don't know about 'godly' - 80CrV2 is actually a high carbon steel with a small amount of chromium & vanadium for carbide formation. However, it does offer excellent toughness, good edge retention (for a carbon steel) and is easy to sharpen & maintain. The best thing is that it's not an expensive steel and therefore (depending on the brand!) offers good performance value for money.

I can’t wait for you guys to try a Demko Shark Lock knife, like the Demko AD20.5 or Flytanium Arcade (I recommend the 3V blade or S35VN). The guy who designed the Tri-Ad lock designed the shark lock, and when compared to eachother with the same size components and materials the shark lock is stronger. You guys also need to check out the Real Steel Pathfinder folder. 3.9” of 14c steel with a true Scandi grind, very good micarta handles and a cross bar lock. I put a secondary convex on it to toughen up the edge and I’ve really put it through hell. Batoning 3.5”-3.75” thick wood, chopping with a Bark River style lanyard for a +69k increase in chopping power and out of the box it feather sticks extremely well while wanting to bite deeper naturally with a scandi but once I put the secondary convex I give it a 8.3 for feather sticking, not bad considering it’s a folder. Plus at least in the USA it’s $79 I believe.

G'day Guys, a top 5 is very difficult in this category. Even though I'm a stain... less lover, I'm pretty much with ya on the end conclusion, (and glad you got rid of all folders). The Mora Robust gets the nod @ No. 5 because A. I do have one, (personally tested) and B. although snug, does fit my L to XL hands. 4 and 3 could be so many IMO. Personally my Bravo 1.5 would have to be one of them, (in S35 btw, but yeah 3V would be better "in category") and out of left field, I have a Steel Will Sentence 102 in 9Cr18Mov, that I've beaten the absolute shit out of against Aussie Redgum, hardly any damage at all, you could say, it laughed at it; maybe just lucky with the HT on my particular unit ? I'd put a Puukko 140 in 2nd. Noth'n wrong with a BK-2, 7 and I'm getting on extremely well with the 18 for a small fella, but man, the 9 does it all, ......... over and over again !!!!!!!!!!!!!.
