Great advice. I think this was the biggest mistake I made when I first started out mixing: not using saturation to increase sub-bass intelligibility.

Just get Future Audio Workshop Sublab. Homestly only problems when mixing synth and sample-based 808s. With Sublab maybe a lowpass filter and done. If you have trouble fixing your 808 try Sublab. Great video! Good stuff and great presentation, I love it!

To be honest I'm a little confused... Having sub-frequencies be both mid-side EQ'd *and* in mono at the same time seems counter-intuitive unless I'm missing something. Or is this advice for one or the other? Where should the distortion go? Before or after compression? Oh, and is there any difference in using e.g. a limiter in a compressor vs. a standalone limiter + standalone compressor? Other than being able to control their individual positions in the effects chain better, that is.
