Have you ever met post-menopausal women for whom high-carb doesn't work for weight loss and who need more protein? I spent more than a month being very diligent and eating a la Dr MacDougal, not cooking in oil and getting out for a couple walks a day. And I tracked what I ate as I ate it in Cronometter. And I eat the same thing every day of a week so it didn't vary throughout the week. And because I'm lazy and don't want to run out of what I cook for the week and have to cook more food later, I weigh how much I've made--weighing the ingredients I put in while cooking--and weigh out my portions so I'm pretty certain I'm not overeating anything. And my weight barely budged. It's very frustrating but so far that's been my menopause experience in general. And I've definitely heard from several sources that after menopause we need more protein.

I’m post menopausal and disabled so my exercise is limited in addition I have under active thyroid and have to take steroids daily as my adrenal glands don’t work properly, so weight loss for me has always been difficult. I’ve lost 2 stone 5lbs in three months since starting the whole food plant based diet, I’ve kept it simple and more or less eat the same foods every week. I hope you can find something that works for you, I didn’t eat any processed food at all which I think is key

@laurawinger4339 I'm a 60 y/o woman and I'm post menopausal and like you, I thought I was broken and needed more protein etc.... I got fed up and called Emmie and joined her SOS Program and let me tell you - I am NOT broken - I just needed some extra guidance and accountability. Do yourself a favour and join Emmie. stop tracking your calories! In my experience this just makes you think about food all the time so that even if you want to stay at a certain limit and are not in tune with your hunger and fullness cues you will just eat to that limit you have set for yourself. I did this for decades and it's very frustrating. Your body knows how much you need to eat and will learn to tell you again. Patience is key.

Adding in more foods that were higher in fiber and wet content worked for me.

I am post menopausal and thought I just had bad metabolism. I changed to whole food plant based diet and mostly salt, oil and sugar free and the weight came off. I didn’t really change my exercise habits, so it was definitely the food. I followed Dr Esselstyn’s diet from Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease at first and now that I am at my goal weight, I am a little more flexible but still eat WFPB. Good luck. Keep at it.

Hi! Ipleas don’t feel defeated. I believe that this can work from you, maybe some minor tweaks involved. ’ve worked with 100s, if not 1000s of post menopausal women and we’ve had great success. 🙏 I’d have to see everything you’re eating and know your background to best help you ❤❤

Eyes on the prize! Keeping it simple was a key to success for me because I had a tendency to overcomplicate food. The SOS program definitely helped me recognize that.

I’m new at this. I’m used to frying everything. I am disgusted with boiled veggies. I’m a gastric bypass patient so I’m worried I won’t or can’t eat enough.
