@@DakotaWoodHD Is low mileage a deciding factor in purchasing an old vehicle? Are these vehicles practical camper-living?

Nice muscle house that the m35a2 and the volunteer fire department like the military surplus vehicles for water rescue calls and wildland firefighting calls as well they can always handle anything

My only concern about these vehicles would be the ability to get replacement parts and maintenance; otherwise, most of these would be nice to own.

The 3rd vehicle is an MRAP. It has had a full restoration. It was purchased through DRMO Camp Pendleton. I was very interested in this and flew out to see it, however, at the time Gunny was not flexable on the price but it is in incredible condition with a fresh engine and transmission. The tires are military Kevlar run flat tires and the vehicle comes with 6 nos spares. The glass you mentioned is 2" 5 layer and nearly impossible to purchase. His asking price has come down a little but it is a reasonable price considering the government paid 3/4 million for these. Many states will not register these because of weight and armor.

Remember all M-35, 2.5-ton trucks are manual transmissions. Most with 5-speed manuals with high and low range lever. Those that only have driven automatic transmissions need not apply. Most M-35 trucks are governed to 45-mph.
@ronintoecutter76904 жыл бұрын
Respectfully. The military buys a lot of trucks. They don’t have a lot of miles because they sit unused for a very long time. When they break, the military simply goes to their lot and pick out another one. They have to because the mission must be completed on time. The truck gets fixed later. Nobody owns the truck so they could give a shit what the miles are even though it’s recorded when the truck is checked out. Their are only two things to be concerned with when it comes to these trucks. Dry rot, and young people work on them that have no real world experience and could care less if they work being they have more in their lots.

That's definitely not a real MRAP. In a real one, the Driver & Commander's seats hang from the roof to keep the shockwave from transferring into the personnel through the chassis, floor, and seat mounts.

You’re right they should just give them away instead of minimizing costs by selling retired vehicles to civilians. That way the military will have less funding and we can all pay more taxes! But you seem like the kinda fella that wants more free things from the government so you’ve probably made your peace with high tax.

@keithbaker19515 жыл бұрын
Id take the 12 valve anyday! If your needing the engine waterproofed on this truck your in water deeper than you should be and you have more problems than the engine water proofing.. but the fuel pump is mechanical anyway to help remove electrical issues.

Can an M35 really be civilized? IE. comfortable, etc.? Those axles make me wonder if there's just too much unsprung weight to make anything but cumbersome.

You should research the vehicles before you describe them, That way you don't have to read the description and figure out what they have while showing us. Know what all the vehicles have before showing us the video, It's annoying having someone trying to show stuff that they dont really know the product.
