I might be wrong, but I think the most powerful spells are the ones independently created, like Grindlewald’s lightning spell and Sectumsempra

I'm now of the belief that protego diabolica is infact a dark form of the patronus, created from malicious intent rather than happy memories. Think about it, the patonus charm essentially acts the same as the protego charm in that it creates a shield, just one specialized to light and goodness, so much so that i believe the patronus could be seen as an offshoot of protego. Now look at protego diabolica, an advanced shielding spell variant that curiously also evolves to take on the form of an animal, exactly like the patronus does. I'm of the mind it was taking on the form of grindelwald's spirit animal just like his patronus would Interestingly this would also mean that grindelwald's patronus is infact a dragon, which honestly fits for him. Lots of people like to think that he must have a phoenix just like dumbledore but i dont buy that, just cus 2 people loved eachother doesnt automatically mean they'd have the same patronus. And its very clear that albus felt more for him that he returned back by the end, and that its not even close to the level of devotion snape had for lily which caused his patonus to change Just an interesting theory i havnt seen anyone else talk about you might like to make a video with

I like this theory. And just like the Patronus charm, it takes an incredibly skilled wizard to master its most powerful form. The Patronus charm definitely deserves an honorable mention on this list.

These fire spells have something in common with din's fire from loz ocarina of time. That spell creates a fire sphere around link, that damages anything link intends to. If you use it around citizens it doesn't hurt them, but it does damage enemies, lights up torches and burns up spiky wooden traps.

I have a personal theory that the reason why avada kadavra is forbidden but spells like in this list are not is more 2 fold. 1 reason is the direct intent needed. (that said these spells with the exception of the first one are easily designed with the intent to kill) As for the second reason is ease of use, just imagine how much effort fiendfire requires compared to most other spell, I feel that avada kadavra is not a difficult spell to use so that's why it's forbidden when these aren't

I think they are called unforgivable curses becase no matter who and when, they will always serve their intended purpose: To kill: Avada Kedabra To torture: Cruccio Manipulate: Imperius Whereas these other curses, although more destructive, their intensed purpose is not necessary to damage humans only objects/situations/(maybe)Magical Creatures. Bombarda, Bombarda Máxima, Confringo, Fiendfyre, etc, where not created for the purposes the 3 Unforgivable curses were. Now, if Dark Wizards use them to aim at people, then that's another issue. And maybe, they should have their own restriction the way the U.C. do. The Wizengamot should revise these spells and make new preventive laws.

I don't know how using Glacius and Diffindo doesn't get yourself a trip to Azkaban, the about of times I used this spell just because I get a bit bored. 😂

Oddly enough a lot of killing thins were created by healers over the history of humanity. So a magical healer isn't strange.

I know this focuses on the combat spells, but I would think that the concealment charms used to hide Hogwarts and the entire Ministry would be pretty high up on the list of most powerful.

What about the transmorgafication curse bro it's a deadly curse that transfigures the opponite with torture is say that's more powerful than avada kadavra because the fire a tortures death
