Breloom is also a very good alternative to Gallade, as it gets access to both False Swipe and Spore, as well as having an even higher attacking stat than Gallade. It also gets bonus points for how easy it is to find and how early it evolves.

@@Chaserino Oh right my bad! It only gets False Swipe via TMs which aren't available in the base game. I was playing with a mod that makes them obtainable in survival so it completely slipped my mind

Also keep in mind a majority of grass types are immune to powder (spore) status effects, so hypnosis is better for a majority of captures

"false swipe" can also be used by farfetch'd, cubone, marowak, scyther, sceptile evolution(without treecko). P.S. I chose the most easily accessible Pokemon at the beginning of the game.
