Interesting video, I found it odd you did not put Head Velocity MLT in the top 5 since it has such good specs!

Thanks for those insights. Very helpful. What are your views on Technifiber Multifeel ? As per your table x-one Biphase has a poor spin potential, can I string the crosses at lesser tension to increase spin potential ?

No Gamma Live Wire or Live Wire Professional? I am using Live Wire professional right now but want to switch to a cheaper string. I'm leaning towards Head Velocity.

Hey Pat, love this mate. Can i get a copy of this document for reference? I'm also a true believe in budget multis and a long support of Wilson sensation (strung tight in the mid 60's in my babolat pure aero).

Yes sure, The list is for multifilaments, I am working on Poly strings now and will have that up in a few days, you should be able to download from the link, if not let me know drive.google.com/file/d/1YVOB5M00HRalakK2nkqOwDcsDnjDY0p3/view?usp=sharing

Great video man! Question...how low can you go on a multi string? Full bed and on a hybrid? Thanks a lot!!!
@RacketStringingTips2 жыл бұрын
Hernan, thanks for watching. In general multifilament strings are softer and fibers not as durable as a solid core, and not as durable as poly or other monofilament nylon strings. Tension, string pattern, playing style also effect longevity. In general if you want durability out of multi string, use it as a hybrid with the multi in the crosses. Strings lose tension pretty quickly and most multi's lose tension 20-30 or more % within days / weeks. Under optimal conditions If you can keep your strings intact for about 20 hours of play this would be a good starting point. After this time period the tension loss may warrant restringing anyway. If you are a hard hitter, and shred the strings from lots of topspin maybe go with thicker gauge or a hybrid. Full bed of poly can be pretty stiff so I don't recommend that for most. You can also mix gauge and try a 16 multi in mains and a 17 multi in the crosses. Hope that helps and if not, give me more specifics and happy to answer your questions.

@@RacketStringingTips thanks for answering man?! I want to know, cause Im having golfers elbow with any racket...now using a head youtek speed, 315gr, 18x20, 100si head, 20mm beam...with cyclone tour at 48lb, and its killing my arm. I wanna go as low as possible...tried hybrids with multi in the main and couldnt get enough control and spin. Im thinking about going poly in the main and multi in crosses...I know i can go very low in tension in polys, but i dont know in multis. Im thinking to try poly 1.25 in mains in 44, and multi at 48 in the crosses. If it still hurt, full multi. But, how low in tension can I string with multiphilament? Can i go 40, 44 lb? Do you think that 44/48 could work? Thanks man! A lot!!!

Cool content. Just curious, how would you rate a person’s stroke vs string in terms of spin?
@RacketStringingTips3 жыл бұрын
Marketing tells us that tennis strings can generate spin based on the compositions, gauges,etc., physics tells us that spin is generated by stroke and trajectory and swing. In reality I would side with physics and supplement that by saying that using a textured string may support your stroke to help you generate the spin you want. So don't give up on 'spin' ,textured, or square strings but keep in mind it's the proper stroke that 'really' generates spin. If you want further reading on this I can recommend a book for you to read. Hope that helps.

So glad I found your channel. Love the science! Could you do a breakdown (maybe you did already) for Poly/Co-Poly? It would be helpful to have the most arm friendly poly that has the lowest tension loss and also with highest spin potential. Thank you for the videos and I'll buy you a cup of coffee in advance! Thank you.

For Wilson clash 100, I am considering Head Velocity MLT. Shall I use 16 or 17 gauge and what tension?
@RacketStringingTips3 жыл бұрын
Hi Sani, Great choice on trying this multifilament string, it is a bit crisper feel than some and actually has one of the lowest tension loss % of the multifilament strings at just 15% loss that I looked at. If you end up finding you want something even stiffer you can try Head FXP. Since you are using a 16x19 pattern racket , you may want to start out mid range for the racket which is 47-57 lbs, so maybe around 52. If you have been playing with multiifilament strings before you can try keep tension the same otherwise if you are coming from a poly or synthetic you may want to start out in the mid range and adjust from there. If you dont break strings frequently than I would start out with the 17g and if you due break strings than stick with a 16 g. Hope that helps and let me know how it feels.

Very similar to mlt in performance and reasonable price and with way less string movement (strings sticking out of place) is tourna quasi gut armor. It's the better string and should have been in the top 5 of this video as it kicks the crap out of babolat excel (really overrated and pricey) and also way better than the wilson strings suggested in this review. Give it a try.
