I just want to point out that Steve immediately started to throw a tantrum when it started to look like he might not get exactly what he wanted, and basically tried to pressure them into accepting his offer without thinking about it further (by threatening to withdraw if they didn't accept on the spot). They hadn't even given any indication that they were rejecting his offer - they just wanted to talk about it some more, and he immediately freaked out and went "Well if you don't accept right now, I'm out". That's really shady, and you should be concerned if someone with much more power and money than you, who you're about to go into a shared business with, starts acting like that before you've even sealed the deal. Because he's exactly the kind of person who will throw his weight around like that EVERY time he wants something.

But I guess his image appears intimidating for many for how he is portrayed in this show and how he’s treated by members (joke or not). But in business, expertise shared on the table is asset itself other than equity. Agreed, as yucky as it seems initially it is actually a really good idea. In the west we usually think of insects as dirty or something but tons of places eat them. Not to mention the way they treat animals in industrial farms is way yuckier than any bug, so anything that can reduce our dependence on that type of farming is a good idea in my books.

We already have stand in babies. There are all sorts of dolls for this very purpose. The only thing different about their doll was that it had more positions it could be put in. But that isn't a bonus for anything but photography. For anything medical, they would need to add features. Like an electronic interface to make it have vital signs that are adjustable, different holes for inserting tubes, self healing skin on the arms/legs for IV sticks, etc. It would be a whole new product.

Loved the bug product, but the set up was a bit odd. I liked that she pointed out that the biggest selling feature of her product is not having to look at or think about the insects, but shes also marketed the product as The Edible Bug Shop with a big bug mascot. Still, it's a great product and I'd be willing to try a bug cookie. Edit: It seems marketing teams may have helped to ammend this concern as her business has changed to "Circle Harvest" rather than remaining as "The Edible Bug Shop". Bugs remain on the packaging, but in a tasteful and even cute way. I'd love to try some of the new products they're offering now that I see some research has been put in to better marketing.

The insect flour actually maybe a logical solution and maybe really good food substitute, but I think you can't get people to get over the fact that they are eating bugs. I also know that in are current processed foods we eat a ton of bugs a year, but it still makes people physically ill knowing they are eating bugs! Like humans have been eating bugs for protein since the dawn of mankind, but it's just so hard to get over. I'm sure they will rename it something Ausie so it isn't "bug flour", I am also sure it is completely healthy to eat and will not have any ill health effects and might be really much more health benefits, but mentally it is just hard for people to mentally to consume!
@cthecheese1620
@cthecheese1620 2 жыл бұрын
Idk, I feel like many have gotten over the fact that the meat they consume likely comes from an animal that was abused from birth until death. It’s really the end product that actually matters, which is why the cookie was the first and only thing that was sampled by some of the sharks. Not being so forward with the source being bugs would probably help the business go further. Protein Flower is a lot easier to market than Bug Flower.

@@brandenantonino23 they’re so cuteeeee. I used to have a fear of spiders until I dated a girl that was even more scared of them. Got over it quick, would pick them up, and chase her around the house with them, eventually placing them outside. Now I let them stay inside, keeps the mosquitoes away. Not to mention, I have a toad that lives on my front porch and goes to town for dinner. Sometimes if you’re really up for it you can feed a spider ham/meat, it’s pretty cute bc they taste with their legs. Wasps are super carnivorous and I’ve had a couple let me feed them by hand. Honestly bugs are chill if you let them be. They’re anatomy is also really cool, like lil aliens. Only ones that can go are bed bugs, mosquitoes, ticks, fleas, and lice. But even then, they all have a purpose in the environment. I went on a trip to Costa Rica and in the jungle our guild took ants from the tree and told us they were edible. Here’s the kicker, their main diet was mint leaves, so they literally were just crunchy mints. It was wild. 10/10 recommend

That was one the most counter productive bits of info I’ve ever heard in a pitch. My mind was completely blown when she went from trying to change peoples minds and make them see roaches as being more lovable and then telling people to eat them lol

Funny is one way to spell delusional I guess😬 She seems sweet but that’s dangerous AF in business, which she has no grasp of. I feel really bad for her and kind of grossed out the sharks didn’t ***clearly*** tell her she didn’t have a product... at all. some actually encouraged her to keep going🤯😨 She thinks she’s an entrepreneur and that’s really, really sad. her reaction at the end shows her IQ is not equipping her even if somehow her bank account is/was. Pretty horrified the sharks heard she already sunk $80k (!!!!!) into that stupidity and didn’t tie her to a chair until they got it across to not spend another penny or waste another second thinking about this bad joke. Medical grade silicone, reusable, that could actually provide a true seal, maybe... I could see that. But a hotel shower cap for your ears that doesn’t even fit on your ears (😶) solves exactly zero problems for zero people. Poor lady. Bad sharks😡

The sweat guards could actually be mega useful. I have hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) and it doesn't matter the temperature, I'm almost always sweating. It's embarrassing. they really aren't very different than pads, but I imagine they would fit much better.
