Hey Katie! Do you add all of these at once or would you recommend I do one at a time for a couple of weeks to see reactions? And you said slippery elm and marshmallow root should be taken a couple hours before meals? Would they affect the other supplements you mentioned or only vet medications? Hazel isn’t on any meds!

My cat has these symptoms. Having watched your other videos and advice, I've done a HTMA at Analytical Research Labs, a Nutriscan test and a Petbiome test. Nutriscan came negative for food sensitivities. HTMA showed very high Na, very low Ca, Mg and K, high sympathetic dominance, acute stress and inflammation in the body, potential renal, adrenal, allergic issues, alongside high Mercury and Aluminium. The microbiome test showed dysbiosis, increase in Blautia, Bacteroides and Clostridium, with very low levels of Faecalbacteria, Prevotella, Megamonas, Bifidobacteria and Akkermansia. This correlates with inflammation alongside GI tract, poor gut wall integrity, reduced immune response, poor glucose metabolism/reduced insulin function, allergies and immune mediated disorders. However, the biome people told me this result is likely a short-term reaction to something the cat has ingested (although her symptoms have spanned 3 months, consisting of a total of 10 vomiting episodes either immediately after food or clear frothy liquid early morning before breakfast, lip licking, swallowing, generally excessive body licking, very noise reactive, a lot of coming ang going to the litter box persisting after constipation seems to have resolved). My vet has no experience of these tests nor much desire to find out more. She also does not think I am likely to find out much more from a blood panel. I don't know where this leaves us. BTW, I am struggling to find anyone that would ship Standard Process and Integrative Pettides to UK, any ideas?

I'm sorry to hear this and that's awesome that you've done these tests. They are many of what I use with my patients and they are really powerful at treating root imbalances than just bandaiding symptoms. We do work with overseas clients in our Blueprint program and I do free discovery calls to make sure it fits with what you're needing. Here's a link to schedule a call so I can learn more about your journey: calendly.com/d/ywt-vdd-mzw There are other brands of supplements that work similarly to Standard Process overseas.

Can slippery elm be mixed with soft food?

My boxer has acid reflux a month ago I took her off kibble and started cooking for her. I give her slippery elm and she’s doing better but still had 2 small flair ups in the month of August.

Changing the diet is always number one, but I'd start with something like the Zypan or Okra Pepsin to see if that will help with optimizing the stomach environment and supporting digestion. Most of the patients I work with are on fresh food diets and are still having trouble with this condition, so we need to help their bodies with digestion. I also have a free gut health guide I recommend checking out here: thenaturalpetdoctor.mykajabi.com/pl/2148432300

Thanks for letting us know! I do too - it's a great product, and it's helped so many of my patients with GI health issues. Just shows that humans and pets as we age start losing our ability to produce enzymes efficiently and unfortunately, our stomach acid is deficient, which then leads to so many issues like acid reflux and even allergies!
@IntentionallyWellPodcast4 ай бұрын
@@thenaturalpetdoctor SO very true. I supplement both my girls with digestive enzymes but I believe both (one more than the other) definitely needs some additional stomach acid support. The signs are there. Again thx for such a detailed and helpful breakdown. Super informative! 😘

I've tried so many things for my dog (supplements and prescription foods), and I think low stomach acid or digestive enzymes might be one of his issues--looking forward to trying Zypan for him! Thanks for this great video!
@adelarsen97764 ай бұрын
It's the food. Dogs are facultative hyper carnivores. They are happiest and healthiest with fresh raw meat, fresh raw bones and a little fresh fat. You can make acid reflux go away in about 2 days if you change the dog's diet. Don't feed your pet commercial pet foods. They are full of sugars, seed oils, chemicals, oxalates and carbs which cause the reflux.

@@adelarsen9776 We actually had him on a raw food diet when he was a puppy and he did great with it, but there was a supply chain issue during Covid and now they've changed the formula. We've tried many other raw and protein rich whole food brands since then, but he always gets sick and itchy. I don't love having him on a prescription, processed diet, but everything else makes him sick. I feel like he probably has gut permeability and low HCl but I don't know how to help him when he's so sensitive and picky.

@@katiemalmay7301 Raw fresh meat and a clean environment will help. Also make sure to get lots of sun and clean drinking water. I am sure there is a way for your dog to regain metabolic health without expensive intervention. I wish you and your dog good health and prosperity.

Can you make your own food for him? Buy meat that you can learn about the source or at least trust the quality?

I have the same exact issue with my dog. Nothing i do helps. I tried cooking his food to get him off the zd diet And disnt work. Tried couple different recipes and he got sick and acid reflux. Really bad. Tried a better dog food and didn't work. He does have some food allergies that was tested so I know what to stay away from. He eats grass,and ticks his legs constantly on this food. Hundreds of dollars later we are back in zd diet and he's back to eating grass and lick his legs . So frustrating

I ordered some Zypan for my 9 pound dog. So the dosage for her weight is 1/4 to 1/2 pill with each meal but it says not to break the pills in half so I'm not sure how to dose her. What do you recommend? Thank you for the great video!
@thenaturalpetdoctor4 ай бұрын
It's ok to break them, but hide them in a little bit of food or a treat since it can taste funny and you want her to swallow it whole.

Am I the only one having difficulty finding the doses in the description? Can someone please copy them into a comment?

Is this plan for cats too. How is acid reflux diagnosed?
@thenaturalpetdoctor4 ай бұрын
The symptoms that are mentioned are connected to acid reflux. If you want to see if there are ulcerations secondary to the acid reflux, abdominal ultrasound will show the inflamed tissue in the stomach and esophagus. Acid reflux is still a symptom and you have to figure out why it's there. Many pets are lacking enough stomach acid, which I discuss, which is why one of my stop supplements is Standard Process Zypan to help heal that issue. I hope that helps! Make sure to check out the video I mention at the end for gut health tests to learn more about what tests there are to find the imbalances.

Guess what ? there's a solution to you cat's reflux. Give your cat fresh raw meat and access to water. Cats in the wild don't get reflux. It's the food you're giving your pet. You don't need meds for your pet. You need to change the diet. In 2 days it'll go away.
